I have two pairs of these and I think they are great head phones. They have very good low, mid and are not too heavy on the bass As far as I'm concerned, too much bass is for children who buy headphones because they come in pretty colors and they wear them as an overpriced fashion statement. These don't come in pink so look elsewhere if you want too look cool because you wouldn't appreciate the difference anyway. They do a great job of keeping out unwanted sound and as an added bonus, still work even if the battery goes dead. This would be my only complaint--the battery going dead. But, I often forget to turn them off so it is operator error and besides, I don't know how they could make them turn off if not used unless there was some kind of sensor that could be included in the circuit. Anyway, they are solid and sound almost as good as Bose--maybe about the same, for way less money.Read full review

I had Audio-Technica headphones for many years but had to replace them recently. The new ones are bigger and heavier than the older ones but I don't know how these compare with other brands. The headphones produce excellent sound for the kind of music I generally play (classical). The noise-cancelling feature works very well, but I have yet to try them on a jet airplane. As an older guy I'm not aware of any high frequency issues, if there are any. The price I paid on eBay was very reasonable compared to other brands.

The Noise Cancellation works well. The head set fits tight on me and gets a little hot after wearing them for a while. They are more comfortable than some that I have worn. The add indicated open box but on arrival, the NC function did not work. Called company and after answering some questions, CS had me send the head set back for replacement. Replacements arrived and work fine. The cost to ship them to the company was about $7.00. This was a little annoying but still good price to get a new set of head phones.

pretty good sound quality , good bass decent highs but not to sharp , i guess more mid range sound but still solid bass. good noise canceling , not as good as bose but still really good . comfortable fairly big ear pads for large ears like mine but i could use even bigger ( my ears are large ) . overall these are comfortable and sound quite nice . i got some used for $35 and that was a great deal ! i would pay up to about $75 or $80 for these with a case in excellent condition . The sound quality is no $300 pair , but in my budget $ 300 for headphones would be a big spend. Im quite happy with these and they are noticeably better than a couple cheaper over the ear noise canelling heaphones i own . They should work nicely for when i travel . I already use them for my janitor job when i useing a really loud propane buffer on floors at night and they work quite nice for that . plenty of volume and good noise cancelling . Sometimes I would the sound quality was a little more 3 D if that makes sense but they are are notiaceably beter than my able planet and sony ones i own . the sony sound quality is almost the same but the ear pads are small fitting on my ears which hurts after an hour , so these ear pads that fit over my ears dont start hurting really until about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs in i start to feel some discomfort on my big ears , but only minor . I have yet to use and on ear head phones that dont cause some discomfort after hours of wearing them though. Read full review

I bought this product because I'm a musician, and for me it's important to take care of my ears and protect them from noise pollution (I live in Mexico City, and can say that is very very loud). First impression after unwrapping it: it comes in prefect conditions, perfectly shoruded and protected; the hard case is nice, with a very unique design that allows carrying not only your earphones, but even a cellphone or an iPod or something similar. I've proved them in the subway, where mexicans fight against noisy peddlers; and in a recent trip to another city: I cannot explain how happy I was when I discovered that noise cancelling function is exceptional. The battery lasts long, which coincides with the especifications written on the web page. Weight isn't a problem; maybe, the size could be a little nuisance, but you could get used after few days of use, they're perfect to travel. About the comfort, the headphones fit very well on my head, and I must confess I'm a big-headed man. The sound quality is extraordinary. I have used some other headphones, some other brands like Bose and Senheiser, and I affirm that sound quality is totally comparable. I just want to add that it's recommendable to use the with a proffesional audio equip.Read full review
Noise cancelling is pretty good. It doesn't eliminate the background noise completely, but definitely makes it less annoying. Works best with constant background noise (i.e. Jet engine noise). Sound quality is good. Battery doesn't last very long, so bring a couple extra as you'll need them on an extended trip. It is also easy to forget to turn off the noise cancelling feature when you are done using the headphones, but that is a user issue and not a product issue.

The headphones are with good quality. Their noise reduction works good, as expected, though after you turn it off the regular sound sounds much less 'attractive'. One thing I do not like is the size of it. It does not cover my ears comfortably, which is something I couldn't figure out from the its image.

I have to say these are some pretty nice noise cancelling head phones. The comfort is good, they fit completely over my ears and seal up very nice. Sound is great with all kinds of music. They only downfall I would say is the design, they are skittle bulky and stick out a little far from your head; I wish the rounded more like the contour of your head. But for the price compared to other big names makes them an excellent value.

I purchased these headphones for a couple long flights. They work as regular headsets when the batteries are dead but require them for the noise cancelling which has an on/off toggle switch. The headsets are a little bulky but not bad and to me functionality is more important than aesthetics. Basically, they sound good, not as sure if they are as good as Bose in the sound department, but the noise cancelling works great!! I can honestly say that at the end of each of my flights I stepped off the plane feeling like I did when I stepped on and there was no feeling of jet lag or anything afterwards. I sincerely believe that constant background noise from the jet engines causes mental fatigue and for sure keeps one from getting any meaningful rest on the plane. With these, you'll get both, and in fact on one flight I didn't even plug them into music and just used them as noise canceling ear muffs which worked out pretty well.. For less than 100 bucks you can't go wrong with these guys..Read full review
I bought the phones for long plane flights and for all-day open landscape office use. As such, comfort was my primary requirement, alongside noise cancellation ability. While noise cancellation works very well, the same cannot be said about comfort. Fully extended, the headphones are too small to reach both ears. To cover both ears, I need to push the arch almost onto my brows. And even then I quickly lose blood circulation in my scalp as the arch presses down too hard. Alternatively, if I let it rest comfortably over one ear and run the arch over the top of my head, the other earcup will only cover half of my other ear. Images below: http://stanislavs.org/images/ATH-ANC7B/ I estimate from normal human proportions that the phones would sit comfortably on a person, whose height is below 160cm. The sound quality when noise cancellation is turned off (passive mode) is mediocre, lacking in descant. While turning noise cancellation on brings the full range of the sample music I test-listened to. I performed these tests in a completely quiet environment to compare active vs. passive mode music reproduction. I've seen people mentioning Bose, so I will give it a try next, hoping that they have a bigger max extension of the earcups. In the meantime, Audio-Technica goes to re-sell. Hopefully I haven't lost all of $120 that I paid for them...Read full review
