A less expensive third party lens that gives great results
It can be a lottery buying third party lenses; you never know if it's going to be fully compatible with your camera until you try it. This lens works perfectly well with my EOS6D, and gives great results for 1/3 the price of Canon's product. Sigma's "Art" series lenses are well made and sturdy. This one comes with a lens hood, a practice Canon would do well to emulate. Image quality is great. Auto focus is fast and accurate, although when wide open the depth of field can be razor thin. I've achieved some great results photographing stage plays in dim, variable light. I'm very pleased with this lens.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Brilliant lens
If you are procrastinating about buying it (as I was) or just simply researching this lens as you should, look no more and get it. I found one brand new for a good price and I love it. It’s robustly built but still has the fine detail. The images a sharp and crisp. A good portrait or landscape lens also good for street work but a bit on the heavier side for that. But that’s as negative as I’m going to get about this lens. Hope this helps someone. NB. The image provide was not taken with this lens.

The one lens I would forsake all others for
This lens is a well built lens a little heavier than most its size but feels durable. There is slight vignetting around the outer edges and I have found that it can be fixed in LR not enough to annoy me most times. The magnification crop on this lens is amazing and I have found myself using this for a lot of close up shots not quite macro but close field of view. I have also used this lens for landscape and have had some astounding results. I have found it is at its sharpest at F2 but regardless is still pretty fantastic at F1.4. If I was told I was only allowed one lens this would be the one I choose. This lens is called an ART lens for a reason.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
