The book is comprised of five pages of introductory text. The rest of the book consists of 35 maps covering seven main areas. These areas are the Bathurst-Orange, Bathurst-Crookwell, Adelong-Wee Jasper, Southeast, Batemans Bay, Northern, and Milparinka-Tibooburra districts. The book is a mixture of practical reference material (including public areas and GPS coordinates) and a coffee-table book that includes pictures of historic interest - at 400 x 265 mm it can hardly be described as a handy field reference. All pages are high-quality full colour spiral bound, and advertising material has been kept to a minimum. Unfortunately, none of the historical south-west and Riverina areas such as Temora, Junee, West Wyalong, Young, and Forbes districts have been covered at all. It's understood that many of the workings in these areas are not accessible by the public or simply do not exist nowadays, but it was a disappointment that they haven't been covered given at all their historical contribution.Read full review

It would have been much improved if more photos of the fossicking areas was given, which makes it more of an overview. I was expecting more detail, but it feels more like a map rather than an atlas.
