Gary Sinise at his best
Of Mice and Men is one of John Steinbeck's greatest stories. It has been filmed 3 times before this version, that I know of. None of them compares to this one (1992). Gary Sinise directed and starred in it and is the perfect George. The film with a few exceptions follows the book closely. The production design is top notch. I used this film in my 8th grade English class for over 20 years, in tandem with the book, and always saw tears at the end and frequently had applause. Not bad for an inner city school.
