Crazy 3D fun
This is a 3D only review of the blu ray. Initially streamed this one in 3D on Hulu, since Amazon Prime Video doesn't offer any 3D. Loved it and bought the disc for my collection (LG OLEDE6P). Great 3D throughout! Lots of popouts and good depth. Very little ghosting - only noticed once for a few seconds in one scene. Crazy, funny story and amazing effects. Abe Lincoln chasing a vampire through a horse stampede, jumping from horse to horse had me grabbing the armrests and laughing out loud. Flyovers of the nation's capital being built were great. Dirt clods, wooden boards, bullets all flying out of the screen in the fight scenes between the president and the vampires. (The movie delivers exactly what the title says.) Breathtaking, dizzying overhead shots of a train hurling across a burning bridge to deliver silver bullets to the Union army to defeat the Confederacy, which has teamed up with the vampires. Hahaha. Just enough real history mixed with tons of over-the-top fantasy made this one an unexpected favorite! Have seen it 3 times and will watch again whenever I'm in the mood for some eye-popping, crystal-clear 3D. Great acting and production values. The story is told with the gravitas of a documentary, which makes it funny as opposed to just ridiculous. Loved it! Five big 3D stars.
