I purchased this phone to replace my almost 3-year-old Droid RAZR HD which had a power button failure. I like it mainly because it is exactly like my old phone, and therefore was easy to configure with the same apps and put the same icons in the same places on my home screen; no new-phone learning curve for me! It did take me all day to get it to that condition though. I love the long battery life that this RAZR HD Maxx has as compared to the RAZR HD. I can use it all day and the battery has barely reached the 50% level. I charge it every night even if it's only down to 80% at the end of the day. This phone also has twice the internal memory of my previous phone at 32GB instead of 16GB. I use my phone for reading e-books, and its size makes one-handed operation of the reading app easy. A drawback of the RAZR HD and HD Maxx is that you cannot remove or replace the battery. When the power button fails, there's literally no way to power cycle the phone. My husband and I have each had our Droid RAZR HD power button fail, his before the phone was 2 years old.Read full review

I ordered this phone as a replacement for my previous smart phone. I have owned several smart phones and have bought phones in the past from Ebay and craigslist etc, and I have never had any problems. This phone, however, was a complete dud. Many of the features did not work properly. Settings would mysteriously change themselves, videos and apps did not work properly and would routinely crash. I tried resets, updates, restarts and all of the usual troubleshooting to no avail. It has been well cared for while I owned it and it has never worked right. I kept it past the return period, because I thought it would be ok, but now I'm not receiving all of my texts or notifications. So now, I will still have the expense of getting a new phone from Verizon plus going through the pain the butt of updating it and transferring my stuff and downloading my apps..... AGAIN. Save yourself time and money, this is not worth it.Read full review

Got this used after researching what phones have the longest battery life. Was leary of buying a used one, especially since the battery is embedded and not easily replaced, but this one is great so far, plus the phone itself has somewhat more ease of use than my previous cheaper ones. I'm not a tech type, don't spend all day doing things on it, but even while using it briefly as a flashlight every night the battery is lasting about two days or longer. Haven't owned it long enough to do a full assessment, which is the only reason I didn't give it five stars, but I'm very happy with for now

Not being the latest and greatest (hence the 4 stars) has it's advantages especially when it comes to price. Less than half what this phone costs when it was first released and in fact is what c/net said was the one "cons" in it's review of this device right after it came out. I think I saw where an unlocked new iPhone 6s is over $700 these days, so if you're looking for a smartphone that performs almost as good for a fraction of the price check out these Droid phones from Motorola, especially this Razr Maxx HD with it's 32 Mg of storage and a Micro SD slot for even more storage. It's a great deal on a well thought of Moto phone by every review I've seen so far!! Thumbs up!!

I have enjoyed this phone. Replaced a Galaxy s5 that was dropped and broken. Obviously a step backward in the tech, most noticeably in the reliability of the Bluetooth connection. Basically I can't stand to play music in my car over Bluetooth with this phone, to many stops and studders, so I use the aux cable. Took many updates to get current with latest firmware. Don't just the camera. I like the smaller phone. S5 was to large for my liking.

I love the 48 hrs. battery life. It has a sturdy feel to it. The fact that it allows one to add up to 32GB of additional memory via the Micro SD slot on top of the built in 32GB is a feature unmatched by both the newer DROID MAXX or the impending DROID Turbo & is a definite plus. According to my buddies who own iPones & other Android phones, it has the loudest ring around. This makes it a must for anyone who works in a noisy environment. I do have to point out one negative. The beveled edges of the screen makes applying a screen protection film on this phone a challenge since the film overhung the beveled section.
Currently the best battery life. Durable (i'm clumsy and broke htcs and samsungs and saw how a Samsung Note in a case got damaged when a short colleague accidentally dropped it). With the motorola defy and xoom i own I began to trust the brand. The size is jut right for my hand and eyes, works fine outside of USA with gsm sim cards. Photo quality isn't one of the best but i can live with the quality for everyday documentation, because if i want to take good pictures i bring my professional camera. I live most of the time in a country where samsung dominates the market and motorola phones are a rarity and i love the curious looks my phone is getting from people who thought their Samsung S4 is outdated. My choice of phone is a very personal preference, and this phone is serving me quite well.Read full review
Great phone!!! But since I bought it used, the battery life is short (1 day) and the charging time is long (4- 6 hrs) HD camera is super and Internet browsing is very fast. The phone itself is beautifully designed. Slim and lightweight.

This phone was actually pretty terrible. I prefer Android to Windows so I got this phone after suffering with a Nokia Lumia for a year. Battery life on this Motorola sucks. It literally goes from 100% to 60% after a 10 minute phone conversation and, might I add, that is AFTER I programmed it to run with all its so-called "battery saver" options in order to maximize battery life. This phone also requires a great deal of patience when trying to make calls. 99% of the time, I have to make 5-10 attempts at dialing out or accessing my contacts because it tells me "CONTACTS HAVE CLOSED" and bumps me out to the home screen. If I had to make an emergency call, I'd probably be dead before this phone would allow me to call out. Also, this DROID has virtually ZERO memory, so good luck taking pictures without having to buy an SD card. Apps, for the most part, work okay but, like I said, the battery life on this phone is sub-par so using an app is pointless because it sucks up so much juice. I've never been so disappointed in a phone in all my life. This DROID makes the crappy NOKIA LUMIA (I call it crappy because most apps are incompatible with Windows so the phone is virtually useless for anything more than picture taking/phone calls and is not worth the hefty price tag) seem like a dream. I'm really only dealing with it until my contract is up for renewal. But, I promise you one thing, I will NEVER purchase another Motorola in this life OR the next.Read full review
