I bought this lens last week and have been impressed by its sharpness, build quality and colour rendition it's only weakness is the fact that it's heavy but it's the same weight as the zeiss equivalent. My dad has the zeiss 55mm 1.8 and the pictures are if not better are the image quality as the zeiss the same can also be said about his sony rx1 which has a zeiss 35 mm f2 this camera was specifically built round this lens so is fixed to the rx1 and we both agree the images from the samyang are slightly warmer in colour but it also produces sharper images as well . I use this lens with the sony a7ii. I would recommend this lens and samyang lenses to any one and I intend to purchase further samyang autofocus lenses in the future as they represent superb value for the money

This lens is blisteringly sharp and in my opinion equal to the Zeiss equivalent, but at around half the cost. Build quality is again on a par with the Zeiss. It has a metal body although the lens hood is plastic. Autofocus is very fast, accurate and quiet and it's a pleasure to use. I have 3 Zeiss and 4 G lenses so therefore feel qualified to make these judgements. So if your in the market for a 35mm prime lens this is one that should be close to top of your list

Sharp images and it's closeup abilities are outstanding, you certainly get your monies worth.
