Turns Playstation 3 into a media center
Yes, I suppose one could do most all of these functions by using the game controller, but this is vastly more convenient for watching DVDs, Netflix, Amazon videos, Hulu, etc. Also works as a remote controller for TV and audio amp. I guess I might want to have dedicated buttons for Netflix and Amazon, but that's no big deal. A feature I especially like are the extensive DVD controls, like going back or forward by 15 second jumps. The volume buttons will control the TV without having to switch the remote to TV function. But for a reason I don't yet understand the channel up/down buttons won't work the same way — this seems odd since I don't think the Playstation itself has any channel functionality, does it? It has no TV receiver. My only complaint is that my first remote developed a quirk after about 18 months — It would periodically lock up, making me think the batteries were dead, but as it started happening more often I realized that it was probably something else. I then discovered that if I just popped one battery out and put it back in that it would reset the remote and it would then work perfectly again, for a while. When I finally got tired of doing this I ordered another one and it has been fine (although it is not yet been 18 months old).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Need some tweaking hack to pair. But works great after that.
