Tonka Steel front end loader
I couldn't believe you could get a toy made like they use to be 50 years ago, but there it is. Actually in some ways it's better. Some rubber parts have been replaced with plastic that won't harden or dry rot with age. Not Like it Used to Be
We have a Tonka Classic Mighty Loader that my 7 year old received as a gift several years back and his younger brother really wanted one too. Unfortunately, this model looks very much the same, but is not as durable and does not have the same features. I noticed, after receiving it, that the number above the wheel on our old loader was 728, not 838. I wish I would have noticed this before my purchase. They don't make Tonka like they used to
They don't make Tonka like they used to, and yet they cost more--but that's the case with most products today. There's a lot more plastic on these than metal nowadays, so they're definitely not as durable or rugged as they used to be. The bucket on the one we received was actually yellow verses the black bucket depicted in the picture and what we expected because it is a little nicer and more authentic looking, so not sure what happened there, but still works great and our grandson really enjoys playing in the sandbox with it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
