This One's A Dandy
For a meter in this price range, this is a really nice unit. I used it to test, first, a known non-defective 2200uF capacitor using the 20mF range (20,000uF) and also using both the probes and the inserts just below the display. It read 2.05 mF (2050uF) which is pretty close to the stated tolerance listed in the instruction sheet. Next, I measured a 100uF capacitor using the 200uF range and it read 92.1uF which is pretty dang close. I did find that down in the pF ranges, things get a little flaky. I attempted to check a 7.5pF cap using the 200pF range just for fun and the resulting reading was 25.8 which didn't actually surprise me. Roughly 12-15pF of that reading is the capacitance inherent to the probes although it did read close to the same when inserted directly into the meter. It's not a big deal, though. If you're looking for an inexpensive meter for everyday troubleshooting, this one is a dandy.
