Great product for the price now, compared to when it first came out.
This device is built on the M.2 SATA III interface. Its use is typically in devices as a replacement of 2.5" SATA HDD thereby leaving enough space around it to prevent overheating. By being a 2280, it gives your device enough surface area for easy heat dissipation compared to the 2230, 2240 and 2260 which sometimes requires a heat sink to accomplish the same.
Its use as a storage device in an enclosure is similar. Head conducting cases are preferred, and transfer rate is almost the same rate as using ones it PCIe interfaces.
