Additional information
This three-CD slipcased set features classic 1970s tunes from such performers as the Doobie Brothers, Dionne Warwick, Bread, and Carly Simon. Adapter: Judy Collins. Arranger: Judy Collins. This budget three-CD set was produced for the Australian market, so it prominently features ringers like Samantha Sang and her Bee Gees-penned hit "Emotion," alongside the usual '70s compilation fare (Chic's "Le Freak," "Diamond Girl," from Seals & Crofts). But there also quite a few other oddballs here, making All the 70's not quite essential, but a fun ride out into left-field nonetheless. There's the rambling Dave Edmunds nugget "Girls Talk," and power chords from Swanee ("Crazy Dreams") and Foreigner ("Long, Long Way from Home"); elsewhere, soft rock faves like "Walk on By" from Dionne Warwick, "Daddy, Don't You Walk So Fast" from Wayne Newton, and Nicolette Larson's "Lotta Love" are collected here. Bizarro inclusion award goes to Holland's the Tee Set with "Ma Belle Amie." Put this final track on a mix-tape somewhere, just to prove you own it. ~ Johnny Loftus
