One of the greatest journalists of all time, Mitchell writes sparingly and convincingly, never wasting a word or a sentence. Simple, uncluttered prose. Matter-of-fact reporting devoid of tedious adjectives and adverbs. Even his longest sentences, and some are quite long, never fun on they way they do with the overrated Hemingway or the fraud Kerouack and his "spontaneous" gibberish. Mitchell wrote like a man who saw clearly. Enough!
