Vallejo dark gray wash
Most accurate wash color for weathered wood. Paint are earth tone or silver gray base coat. Let dry for a couple of days so it won't lift. Then apply the wash, straight for heavy weathering and diluted for lighter grain effects. Try it diluted about 50-50 over painted siding on structures. Adds shadows to the siding. Makes the siding pop. Particularly any changes in type or direction of the siding. Give the light a little help creating shadows. Remember, photons don't scale themselves down near models, you have to create that effect for them.
