Trying to help some who might be confused, this is NOT an amplifier. It can not drive speakers directly. It is for decoding DTS and Dolby 5.1 surround sound signals. Sits in between a digital player and an analog amplifier. It takes a digital signal and converts it into 6 separate analog line out channels via rca cables (center, front L&R, surround L&R, subwoofer). For example; mine is hooked up to xbox one via optical then to Technics sa-ax6 receiver. Hook it up to any amp/reciever that has rca inputs, even 3 stereo receivers and have 5.1 surround sound if you wanted. Has an active 60hz high-pass crossover for front, rear, and center channels that can be turned off individually if you're using speakers that can handle it. Has a 6ch analog signal pass thru as well. It's old tech, but I think it still sounds great with no noticeable noise, and easy to use. I've used mine daily for the past 10yrs and it was 8yrs old when I got it on here. Hasn't missed a beat! You do need a remote to access all the features/adjustments. If not a factory one, a programmable remote like Harmony works fine.Read full review
