The clear o-rings are supplied to keep the shock centered on the ball ends-use one on each side. The larger ball end goes on the top. The shocks work great, but adjustments take some custom work. I found they got "stuck" unless I removed the lower inside O-Ring on the shock shaft. A few drops of shock oil everywhere lubricates and smooths travel. Custom springs may be used but they're hard to find. Luckily HR includes stiff, medium, and soft pairs. They're not RC race shocks by any means-there's very little damping, preload, and stiffness adjustment, etc. But for scalers and even custom front shocks on a Twin Hammers, they work fantastic.
