All in all, a very relaxing collection of crime stories.
Agatha Christie's stories about Miss Marple are very tame by ordinary standards, but they are also completely enjoyable. It's a pleasure to be in a world where nothing terrible happens (except the required murders, which are never done in a horrible way), and where the secondary characters could be our own neighbors. Much of the enjoyment lies in the personality of Jane Marple, who is a comfortable person to spend time with and who solves problems with a calm logic that is not as sharp as Sherlock Holmes but closer to the thinking of the average person.
