I'm a retired photographer and network administrator that has been in to photography since my jr. year in high school(I started out with a Pentax 35mm given me by my brother)! Having done darkroom work and that "film" things we went through to get a 'sharp' print and now be able to do better with a printer costing under $100 is just amazing! Canon has been my photo printer (and camera) for a long time now! This printer ranks right up there with their IP9000 large format but in a small size print! Got this one today, easy to set up and install and the 1st two prints were AMAZING compared to my Canon MG5520 using the same ink cart. Color and sharpness was excellent making me want to get the larger printer supporting the 13X19 inch print size! Highly recommend this printer to a photographer wanting a good sharp quality printer! Also, Ebay and others sell the off brand inks for about 1/4 the cost of Canon inks with no noticeable damage to printer or print quality!Read full review

Printer has 2 paper trays but came with 1 tray that loads and print on 4X6 and 5X7 ONLY. I purchased a 2nd tray that loads Letter-sized paper on eBay, but the Printer JAMS by sliding./slicing letter-sized papers GOOD- This printer prints OK on 4X6 and 5X7 papers. BAD - Printer does not load/print on Letter-sized paper.

This printer has served me very well for several years. Love the features and the quality, the ink is not too overpriced, and it prints on CDs, which is the most important feature for me. My first one went about six years of regular use. I did have to replace a print head, but that was my fault for using poor quality inks. When it finally have out I just ordered another with confidence that it will serve several more years. The one annoying thing about it is that it suit cleans itself every few hours of use and that takes a long time, maybe three minutes, which seems like forever when you're just trying to print a mailing label.

Setup was easy. Just follow instructions. I have printed from three different computers. Have not printed any of my digital pictures. The printing I have done the color looks good. As for the Print Cartridges lasting very long, I don't expect to much due to their small size. My volume of printing is small. I use a good photo program to do my picture manipulations, so cost per picture is not a factor to me. The two front paper trays are a pain. I liked the one on the front and the rear one on my Canon IP4600. Gain some loose some.

This printer is identical to the one I have been using in my second home. I expected it to be of good quality and I was not disappointed. It is easy to set up and produces clear prints and copies. It scans flawlessly with my PC.
