I run this Icom IC 7000 in 3 mobiles and they work very well with the separation kit option to hide radios out of sight and run the remote head to easily mount in newer small vehicles. The noise blanker notch filters are exceptional .The only issues I have found in over 5 years of use is the radio will start losing rf power because the fuse blades need cleaned off to eliminate the lower voltage drop from oxidation. What is nice is being able to hook a monitor to back of radio to have a larger display to see. I might note if your running a high sierra or tar heel screwdriver there are controller that match up very well to the ic 7000 / turbotuner -2 model itt-1 for Icom radio only works well with the ic 7000 and is plug and play with tarheel I get great audio reports running the audio bandwidth at low 200 high 2900 and compression set at 5 mic gain at 70 . Catch you on the band in the mobile....Read full review

Always wanted a nicely featured radio to compliment my Flexradio. The 7000 has been discontinued, and if you can find one... don't wait too long. All reviews are positive on EHam and I concure with the reviews. Very nice rig!

I purchesed this radio at the recomendation from one of icom tec men.[Fred]because of a 32000 volt power line & transformer beside my house.I couln't get noise out of my kenwood 450. With the digital filters the noise is gone! With a40 meter delta loop for an antenna I have never heard a station I couldn't work. And the pre amp brings up the stations not the noise!!! I haven't learned all of features in the radio but it takes time.and I don't have an amp.!!! Im gonna try it on feid day and see who get the most contacts. so say what you want Im 67 an had a minor sroke and it's achallenge to learn this radio but I bought another one for the car so I don't hav to try to learn another radio. Feature rich, light weight, and compact. With most of the popular bands covered, this transceiver is a pleasure to use. Really enjoy the colored LCD display, DSP noise reduction, and software shapeable filters. The receiver is great and the enclosed speaker is good. Mobil operation is a pleasure with adjustable noise blanker. Good reports from stations across the USA.
Have owned several Icom products, and loved them. The Icom IC7000 isn't one of them. Tried it both fixed and mobile. It works fine if you pull the mike cord 3 feet from it and operate. The controls are so sensitive that you dare not brush them or you will be in never-never land for the next hour. Mobile wise, when the mike cord brushes against the face of the control, you can forget the great DX contact you just made on 20 meters. Used it on 80 thru 10, and 2M and 440, always the same problem. Vastly over complicated. Had to call Icom service several times and the seller of the program and cable. They were stumped too. Was wonderful when I sold it on EBAY. Unless you are Bill Gates, forget this one.
All mode HF thru 440!, tons of features. They don't make them like this anymore

I have been using the Icom 7000 now for almost 2 years with no issues. The radio requires a good power supply giving 13.8 stable volts, it also requires a good ground or it will experience "shut-downs" during transmission. There is also a small screw in the faceplate which must be there. I am very satisfied with the radio.
Very useful device for connecting PC to Icom7300.
