I've been pretty happy with this remote overall. The setup procedure all being done through a computer online was--for me at least--easy and user friendly. Likewise, the method to program individual buttons to do whatever you need them to do, and to program buttons off the functions of the original remote, is user-friendly as well. Additionally, I like the "Watch TV" button being able to be programmed to turn on the TV, receiver and cable box and default the volume buttons to always work the receiver pretty slick. I've used an awful lot of universal remotes over the years and I think I can safely say this is the best one so far for those reasons. If there's anything negative to put in, it would be the lack of available components one can control with this particular model (only 4). While that's worked well for me (Blu Ray player, TV, receiver, cable box) one more component and I'm back to additional remotes. The next model up that allows for more components also brings the price up quite a bit. Having said that, though, after using this remote and becoming familiar with what Logitech can do with their remotes, it becomes a little easier to swallow that price pill knowing what kind of functionality and design one gets. Also (while this might be a complaint for all universal remotes), sometimes being able to recreate the ability to perform certain functions that were available on the original remote can be a little choppy. Again, Logitech's software makes programming individual buttons to do nearly anything does help, but you're often left programming a button to do something that that particular button has nothing to do with (like the blue, yellow, etc. buttons being programmed to open the tray on the BD player, set picture angle, and so forth). But, overall, that's not too big a deal really. Good remote. Most people will be happy with it.Read full review
It is always unfortunate when a company ceases to produce great products. Such is the situation with Logictech. I believe the Harmony One was last produced around 2008. In December 2015 I bought a Harmony Ultimate One to replace an older Logictech contoller where the buttons were starting to fail. I had a Harmony One in another room and was pleased by it but was disappointed that it had been discontinued. So i bought the Ultimate One thinking that it would be an even better product. I was seriously wrong. The Ultimate One was awful and too many problems to list here. I am told that it has been discontinuted as well. I bought the Harmony One for much mored than i wanted to pay and I have been thrilled ever sense. On the box it said 2008. I thought that if it worked then i would need to at least get a new battery. How could a battery be stil good sitting in a box for 8 years. Suffice it to say that it took a charge and is still working very well. This is a great product. Pay what they ask and get it while you still can. Read full review

How many remotes is too many? In our house it was 5. The TV, the stereo, 2 tivo/hd receivers and the dvd player. We had tried several other - read cheaper - remotes over the past few months, all with the same results....horrible. Logitech is expensive to be sure, but the headaches - the multiple units - the batteries are gone. On the plus side. This unit does exactly as advertised. All electronic units are now handled by one slick, rechargeable, internet accessible unit with a cool display. Same size as a normal remote control. Fairly easy to set up. And once some of the minor issues (like having this remote read another remote control) are resolved it is perfect On the down side....it is expensive. I mean almost $200 for a remote?? but... everyone is happy so it is a price worth paying.Read full review
This is my third Harmony One (I'm was a little rough on the previous ones). After the second one stopped working, I was forced to buy a Harmony One Ultimate which is a POS (the discontinued Harmony Onw had outrageous prices when it was first discontinued). After 6 months of using a non-remote remote, I ordered the Harmony One and am so glad I did. It does exactly everything you need with the keys in the positions they were meant to be (as opposed to the POS). The unit came in perfect condition and the extra battery will probably help in the long run. I have been using Harmony remotes since before Logitech purchased them and this is the best one ever made.

The Harmony One is an excellent multipurpose remote which can replace several other remotes. If you follow the instructions it is fairly easy to program, but you need to have access to the back side of all your components. It is not infrared so you do need to have direct line of site. The touch screen is nice and it gives a variety of features without searching all over to turn a component on. The design is well thought out and easy to hold with one hand use for everything. Having the number pad ready for use is great, some others have it in their touch screen but this is much easier to use. This Harmony One was purchased as a direct replacement for one exactly like it which had a damaged screen. Since the previous one was already programed for all our components it was relatively simple to set the new one up ( it took less than 10 minutes to make the change ). The only negative and it's the reason for the 4 stars rating, is that the new control reacts slower to the touch commands than the old control. I don't know why this is, but you must hold the touch button/screen down longer for it to respond. This takes some getting used to after the speed of the previous control. This may be because this replacement was a display model and the original was new and never touched. I'm uncertain if this is the reason, it's just a guess. Over all I am very pleased with the Harmony One control. I understand they do not make this particular model anymore. It was not inexpensive either as new or a display and the new replacements are now infrared, but having had one just like it I knew I had no reason to go with the infrared model, and the programing was simple enough to make the switch. I would buy one again if the need were there and I could find one like I did.Read full review

I bought a Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote Control, and I feel its advantages from day one. I have separate set of home entertainment systems in my family room and bedroom, each of which consists of several remote controls. I often have problem lo find the right one to control my system. After setting up the Harmony One, I can control all components of my home theater system, no matter it is an HD TV, or a DVD Player, or my audio system. With Harmony One, I never worry that I have to replace its battery while I need a remote control most. All in all, I like my Harmony One very much.
I had a slow start with this universal remote, but after I figured it out with the help of Ligitechs telephone support folks, all was well. You have to have internet access to program this unit, but it is rather easy to understand after you get the knack of it. I had use a Pronto for years, but it was a pain to program. The Harmony One is much, much easier to program than the Pronto. I have a Pioneer Plasma HDTV, a Pioneer AV receiver, an older series two Tivo unit and a brand new LG Blue Ray DVD player and it handled them all easily. The Harmony One doesn't have an activity labeled "use Tivo", but it has one labeled "utility" that can be made to work. The layout of the remote is easy to understand and use. For instance, one activity is labeled "watch TV", whne you press the touch screen button with that label everything that needs to turn on or switch inputs or whatever, happens automatically. Some of the buttons that you might need to say access Netflix through the DVD player may be a little diffent than on the factory remote, but they are there. All in all, this was a good investment for keeping Harmony in my house. The wife could never quite master the Pronto, but she is comfortable with the Logitech unit. I highly recommend it.Read full review
The harmony One is an outstanding "Universal Remote". The configuration tool is intuitive to use even for the novice with a very basic understanding of what devices they wish to control. The program uses intelligent prompts to understand how you want to use your system. For example if you have a surround system with a TV and say a set-top box such as an Apple TV once you enter the model of each you are guided by questions such as "What is your Apple TV connected to?" while giving a choice of the receiver or TV. Once you answer the program will ask what port (HDMI) the Apple TV is plugged into. (In this example let's say "DVD"). Then the program will ask if you listen through the TV speakers or the surround speakers. Once this is done (and you have named the function button "Watch Apple TV" or simply "Apple TV" a nice button appears on the touch screen. The controls work as they should on the remote. It's simply a well-made and well thought-out product.Read full review

You will find yourself updating the controls of devices you use regularly. Some things for some devices will not be Obvious and you will find it out the hard way which items need to be added. Not really the fault of remote, but would be nice if certain needed features of some brand/models defaulted into the programmable memory for you which if you don't need you could delete or alter. I like my other logitech better, but, buttons used often failed. biggest issue for me is, Touch Screens and I don't get along very well.

Great remote once you get used to the speed it transmits. Need to leave it pointed directly at the units until it is all done. It will fix itself if you push help. I guess it just like everything else...once you are in sinc with the learning curve you get accustomed to the workings. would buy this product again but would most likely upgrade to the remote with the RF signal so it didnt have to be pointed at the units all the time! The programming was a snap...and the available devices on the website is more than any other remote I have worked with! Would reccomend to anyone who doesnt want ten remotes piled up on thier coffee table!!
