    Your gun is not a sword

    Tactical but not practical. I tried my shotgun and my 22 bolt action. The shotgun was trouble because of its attachments, and the 22 bolt action was trouble as well because of the scope. If you are wanting to unholster your gun as a sword with this scabbard the gun must be bare; so your favorite iron sight long gun would be ideal. Other than that this is just a half case. The reason why I gave it 4 stars besides the above is that it's customizable actical because of the molle system. So get crazy with your setup. It does have use, just not with heavy long guns.

    Mossberg Shock-Wave, THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY!

    This is the scabbard to buy if you've got the Mossberg Shock-Wave or the Remington TAC-14. Have had some dealings with NcStar products in the past, some good, some not so good. They did however get this one right. I'm about as picky as they come and usually wind up modifying things I buy to suit me. This one comes with all the features I'll ever need. First it's not made out of "nylon" but it's more or a medium weight ballistic nylon. The stitching is good and I didn't have to spend half a day "melting" the ends of all the stitching. Plenty of molle attachments and it has four extra molle straps included.The scabbard is padded well and the Shock-Wave fits in deep enough to cover the trigger group.With the scabbard "folded" it allows the pistol grip to stick out far enough to remove the gun easily. The strap has a padded removable shoulder strap, I took the strap off and replaced it with a Black Hawk shotgun sling put on upside down and the shoulder pad fits, good thing since the B/H has NO padding. The scabbard is wide enough to allow the use of shotgun shell cards and the retention strap holds the shotgun in place well. This is actually a well thought out AND well made item from NcStar and for the price it's the best bang for your bucks. It also fits my suppressed AK-47 Zastava PAP pistol with it unfolded so It's going to serve double duty for now, I will be ordering a couple more of these for Christmas presents !!!!!!

    Great for a Shockwave

    I equally used this for a Mossberg Shockwave and agree the fit is perfect. I wanted that puppy all the way in, grip covered, and fully extended it works like a charm. There is a short zipper in the wide part of the mouth that lets me fold up a sling, stuff it in and zip it. It is wide enough to hold a flat-top light/laser on a top rail. It would be a FIVE STAR if it were not for the carry strap. Like another guy said, it just will not stay in a good position due to d-ring placement. I moved their strap to two small d-rings on the seam and you shouldn't have to do that. I strapped a couple pouches to the outside for ammo, batteries and small tools. All in all I’m very satisfied with this product.

    Decent quality

    The overall quality is good. I had 2 problems. The way the sling attachment points are on the back of case makes it only carryable over left shoulder. Second, you can't put sling over your head to pack it on your back. If you try, rifle flops around and hangs to the side. I guess it's OK to carry to range. It's not something you want to try to pack your rifle on your back while going through the bush.

    Works great on the right rifle.

    I baught this for my ar15. It extends perfectly to fit my 18" barrel. I keep my accessories to a minimum. I have a strike industries forgrip and a red dot sight. Perfect fit. If you are running a fore grip, bipod , flash light, red dot, 12x optic. Or some crazy urban tactical combo of all of the above, stick to a gun case. This scabbard is ment for a weapon without all the bulky accessories. Good quality.

    Good value for the money

    Works great for my AR platform 9mm. You do need to order magazine pouches for it though. It comes with the "MOLLE" straps (4), but that's it. Construction is excellent and well worth the price. If it came with the pouches, I'd give it 5 stars.

    Great Scabbard for SHTF

    This is a great carry case for your SBR or AR pistol. Wouldn't recommend for anything much longer than a 10.5 inch but it can accomodate longer barrels. Fits nice and snug as long as you only have a small optic mounted. I added a 5.56 magazine holder to it and the molle straps worked perfectly for what I needed. This is very useful for easy storage and quick access if the situation requires so. For the price, it seems well built and hopefully the quality lasts.

    Works For AK Pattern Rifles!

    I am using this for a Saiga .308 with a Vortex Strikefire (typical AK style side mount) and it fits/works even with the magazine in!. Covers all the important parts; only the trunnion, stock, grip, and magazine are exposed. I like the "quickness" of this bag for a single rifle range trip (much easier than a 6 foot hard case). buy for 25-30 and you got a nice buy!
