    Green Globe May Melt

    The green globe started to melt. This is the second controller that melted. It works best when controlling the train at variable speeds for short periods of time. When it is used at a constant voltage such as charging the battery of a DCS controlled train or using for longer periods of time, the green globe may melt.

    Loose bulbs

    I notice several times when I turn on the train the light for the lockon does not go on. It would appear that the contract under the bulb does not keep good contact. I find myself taking off the cover and adjusting the bulb way two many times. I presently have 11 of these on my layout. You should not have to make these types of adjustments.

    Nice upgrade.

    Definite upgrade from the standard Lionel lock on. I am someone who likes to have lights on his layout. So this is a nice addition. It is also wider than the original lock on so that may require the removal of a railroad tie in order to fit. Since I just installed it I cannot comment on durability. But I have been buying Lionel products for over 40 years and have rarely been disappointed on durability - mostly with the Disney Train cars they made in the 70s.
