Keep it clean, Petroleum Jelly as a protective skin.
The gun already has enough reviews to make it a DIY project must have. Buy it. Buy a couple of the plastic paint containers and caps as well. Great when you are going back to the color at some other time . You still need to clean out the tips before changing finish. To keep it looking as fresh as the day it was unboxed and to keep it from plugging these suggestions may work as well for you as the have for me. Coat all of the EXTERIOR surfaces with petroleum jelly. Jar included. Adjustable knob also included. It does not need to be a lot just a thin coat all over the gun with the exception of the exit tip for the paint. Overspray will then wipe off with zero effort. Prepare 3 buckets ( Dollar Tree) with hot water in all, with one of them a dish detergent. All done BEFORE your start to "shoot" #1 is to be used for AFTER the power flush and to parts wet and keep them wet while you use the brushes as you clean. #2 with detergent and the brushes #3 To rinse the detergent off before they are dried. dry. I have pumped about 5 gallons of latex thru mine in the last 2 weeks and not a spot of paint any where to be found. ALSO I find that the heavy style stain covering primers do need some water to thin them for a smooth flow even with the 4mm (Red Tip) at wide open "volume". However, no more than 15% of water for the volume of paint is necessary. You can get a reasonable but "fluttering" flow with no thinning with decent coverage if you go in both directions with the finish using the same speed of movement across the piece.
