Purchased camera for the unbelievable zoom. Very impressive for the price. One minor complaint is parts of the menu navigation can be complicated. It is not very intuitive. My biggest concern is the battery consumption. They go very quickly, especially when using the flash. Make sure you have plenty of batteries available. 25 photos with flash, 60-70 without flash. I expected better capacity out of the Lithium rechargeable batteries. I don't know how that compares to other models. One feature that extends the battery a little, is shutting off the LCD screen.
Bought refurbished camera, Fuji does not pack these units very well, very minimal on materials, a plastic bag that was worn through from all the movement during shipping and a piece of cardboard, no other materials, and no lense cap. Battery life is good, very clear robust images, took pictures at a wedding and could zoom in on wedding party when they drifted away for a quick rehearsal and capture pictures they were not aware anyone was taking. Only have a few hours of picture taking, not much experimenting with any advanced features, but was able to charge battery, install Class 10 card, and figure out on the fly for what I needed the camera for.
I have been using a Pentax MX Professional 35 mm Film Camera for almost over 50 years and the New Digital cameras with a 50 X lens tear up all the Film Cameras like a new day has just started, without any instructions on this camera even me with over 50 years of camera experience now even I was floored and shocked at all the New Digital features on this Fuji Film SL 1000 Camera. I have some bad eyes now and read the instructions on my large Screen TV now, but I DO NOT advise anyone to try using it without reading the instructions first, because you will not even know what ISO is for.... The first thing I did was an indoor photo with out much light or the flasher because I wanted to see some of the capabilities of the existing light photos, so I set the ISO to 400 then got just what I wanted the first shot. the ISO on this camera goes up to 12,800 and this is high enough to shoot a photo in a dark closet and have everything come out like it is in a daylight environment. As far as the Point & Shoot feature I was familiar with it because I have one of the earlier Fuji Film Cameras number S 2000 HD Fuji Camera. I don't have but one negative about this camera is the man I got it from scratched the viewing area lens just a little, but a good lens protective coating can fix this too! You just can't go wrong with the ease of use with this camera, and being able to shoot a full 500 yards away and still have the sharpest images ever .. It is able to use the Micro SD media storage and it has enough memory to accept the full 256 Gigs of memory and deliver over 168,000 images at just 4 MP settings. Ha Ha most people do not know these Micro SD Media Disk will even do wonders for just about any camera shooter as long as you stay in the 10 Class media or above the 10 class, then the best for movies is the 300 MP per minute speed. The first thing you have to discuss with this camera is the zoom. It is absolutely amazing and more than most Bridge cameras are capable of doing. The capabilities of this camera just based on the zoom makes it worth buying. Incredible zoom that would cost more than the camera If this were a DSLR. Picture quality is also very good. Either zoomed in all the way, or something closer like a portrait, the picture quality is almost the same. It has a nice high-quality feel, and you can buy a lens adapter ring for about $10 that is 58 mm that will allow you to use things like filters or a lens hood. One nice feature is that if you are recording video, you have the ability to hit the shutter button and take still pictures as well. Something like 32 pictures while you are recording. If you stop recording then start again, you are able to take another 32 pictures. Video quality is solid. Also, you have stereo microphones. Make sure to have a backup battery on hand with you if you plan on taking a bunch of shots. Batteries for this camera are pretty cheap. Lots of scene selection modes in this camera. Manual mode also is easy to use if you are used to shooting that way with a camera. The screen on this camera is literally three times the resolution of the Kodak bridge camera I own. Very nice that the screen on this camera comes out and can be rotated up and down. Very cool feature to have at times. The only feature I wish this camera had was something like a 3 shot burst. The burst mode it has is nice, but it would be nice to have a limited number of shots as well. You also get a hot shoe that you can attach an external flash or Speedlight. Most cameras in this price range do not give you that option. One-odd thing that I wish would be different is that if you turn on the timer mode, it only stays on for one shot. So if you take a series of shots using the timer, you have to turn it on manually before each picture you take.Read full review

Bought this camera casue I needed a camera that took pictures and videos at the same time, Becuase I take a lot of videos of dancers and needed to take pictures too, with this camera I dont have to go to the menu and change from video to pictures (missing the dancing part), I just press the shutter button for the perfect picture . Thus not lossing a great shot! The pictures come out great! Videos beautiful, zoom excellent, the price excellent. Easy to take picutres and videos at the same time. I wish it was waterproof to take pictures underwater with videos. I just Love this camera. I still have not used all the cool features yet, but I eventually will.
