His YouTube videos and podcasts have gathered a worldwide audience of hundreds of millions, and his global book tour has reached more than 250,000 people in 100 different cities. He lives in Toronto, Ontario with his family.
Jordan Peterson has become one of the world's most electrifying and influential public thinkers, with his lectures on topics ranging from the Bible to mythology to romantic relationships capturing audiences of tens of millions. His startling message about the value of personal responsibility and the search for meaning has resonated powerfully around the world. In this book, he combines the hard-won truths of ancient wisdom with decades of clinical experience to provide twelve profound and practical principles, from setting your house in order before criticising others to comparing yourself to who you were yesterday, not to someone else today. Gripping, thought-provoking and deeply rewarding, 12 Rules for Life offers an antidote to the chaos in our lives- eternal truths applied to our modern problems.
One of the best books I have read in my 70 years. Great chapters on each Rule with enlightening content that has the essence of eternal wisdom from many cultural sources, and modern psychology.
If I had the clarity of this valuable wisdom in my teens and early adult years it would have made my life much more void of many mistakes.
Highly recommended - just gave my granddaughter for graduation.
Everyone should read this. Would make a great present to anyone struggling through life and feeling overwhelmed by the enormous volume of mainstream advice appearing in front of them every day.
A pleasant book book for the most part, and delves into some insane ramblings that are hilarious and insightful.
Dr. Peterson is a good bloke and he means well and all, but it's easy to see why some people can be taken aback by what he says because it's a hard pill to swallow at times.
