Purchased a Schiit Audio Tube Headphone preamp that can take various single tubes that process stereo. This isn't a cheap piece of Schiit, but a quality component for a very reasonable price. This was the third tube I've tried in it, and each tube has a different quality and character. They all sound nice, but very different. I didn't expect such variation. So, this tube is NOT my favorite for classical and any music where a nice sound stage is needed. I pop in the EH 6922 tube for that.... GORGEOUS. However, if you want to turn the sound up for rock and roll, this Amperex Bugle Boy kicks A$$... Now, your mileage may vary as tastes differ, and tubes can sound different in various installations. But in my opinion, you want a rocker, this is a good one for that application.

Tubes were shipped very quickly, and were packaged very well. They were placed in a small (but appropriately sized) cardboard box filled with foam while the tubes were in bubble wrap. The tubes themselves are very good quality and sound better than I expected. In relation to the stock Schiit Lyr 2 tubes, these definitely have more bass, while I think the mids and highs are comparable.

These Amperex 6DJ8/EC88 tubes are perfect for use in a Tube Buffer like the X10-D Music Fidelity clone board that's sold here on. I have two of these running inside my Onkyo C-7030 CD player on one of the X-10-D clone boards that use a separate power transformer and can be set up as a stand alone buffer running on any Tape Loop or External Processer Loop. (See Photo's) This add on up-grade to my Onkyo C-7030 Single Disk CD player is shown in the photo's below and as stated this internal tube buffer will work with any source when it's set up in this manner. There are simply no better tubes for the cost!

I would like to thank Ron for going above and beyond. It was so nice to get some serious advice and coaching from a man who is very knowledgeable about audio and what can be expected. I am new to the tube world and he went out of his way to impart some valuable knowledge to me. The Bugle Boy sounds fantastic in my Vali 2. I don't know what I should use next. Sincerely

Tube delivery was fast and well packed, great sounding and free of microphonic or channel imbalance (unable to detect by listening through my HD800). Can even produce holographic sounding effect when playback Audiophile recordings especially Chesky Records. Great experience with a wonderful price tag and most importantly the seller's quality of service.

I purchased a MP of Amperex 6dj8/ecc88 bugle boy large O ring getter made in Holland tubes, mid 6o's vintage for the following reasons:--A natural curiosity of the sound quality based on the positive comments from other enthusiasts. And to compare with other high quality tubes/valves I am familiar with. Upon receipt one of the tubes was noisy and the vendor replaced the tube. These are excellent sounding tubes in the CAT Ultimate preamp line stage. They present with a nice tonal smoothness and excellent detail and clarity throughout the audio bandwith with fine dynamics and an effortless ease. I rate the tube highly and it is clearly a viable alternative to other tubes; ie. Siemens CCA, Telefunken e88cc,Mullard CV2493, EH6922, Tesla e88cc; in this application.
I bought it to replace the stock tubes on my Schiit Lyr 2 tube amp. The valves had not burned in completely but I could see the sound has become more clear and slight harshness which I could feel at times with stock tubes has gone completely...Highly recommended if you want a replacement for your tube amp

I am really enjoying this tube with a Schiit Vali 2 amplifier. Nice open soundstage. Very clear and detailed combination with the AKG K7xx headphones. I have a few other low priced tubes but this was a super deal for $13 plus shipping.

What more could you ask for --- a Mullard long-plate, perhaps? But this one is an absolute joy. And I didn't have to sell my Tibetan Mastiff to get it.

Best lower priced tube. One would have to spend over twice the amount for reported better sound Tubemazestore has always provided sound advice to me.
