The good points about the Samsung remote BN59-01039A: The remote is well constructed. The cover for the battery compartment is attached to the case by a strap and cannot be misplaced. The scroll keys have a good tactile feel to them. All the markings on the buttons are properly aligned, unlike the markings on imitation remotes. The remote is easy to use, has long battery life and functions perfectly. The only bad point is that the remote cannot easily be taken apart to be serviced and has to be replaced if it has a fault.

The remote works perfectly however I doubt that it is a genuine Samsung product. Battery door does not snap and lie flush like the original, some buttons don't have that normal snap through for a positive engagement. As I said, it does work perfectly when new, just not the same quality finish as my original remote.
