  • Good Carb! Choke stinks....... see review

Installed in no time.... I had to slightly enlarge the throttle bushing and polish the linkage to keep it from sticking (no biggee). The choke butterfly sits in a slot in a plastic shaft. It was so loose it would bind and get out of position as the engine ran. I finally snapped the butterfly and shaft from the old carb and transferred it to the new one and problem solved. Runs like new..... VERY PLEASED over all. Charge 50 cents more, fix the darn choke and you get 5 stars.......

  • Good Replacement for original

This part fit perfectly and no problem to install. The only thing I would add is it is a part more for safety and it is possible to run the engine without it by making some modifications. It simply cuts off the fuel by pushing the fuel float and needle to off position when the ignition is off. When you turn on the ignition, the solenoid pulls the button in and allows gas to fill the carb bowl. I saw some youtube sites where the solenoid was disabled by grinding off the end of the button that moves in and out so it cannot cut off fuel. This is basically how the old engines were designed (ie. no solenoid to cut off fuel). But to be safe, I would recommend utilizing this solenoid as now designed. Note: For winterization, it does not serve any purpose when the motor/mower is stored since it will not prevent gumming of carb by fuel left in carb bowl over winter. To winterize, install a fuel cutoff valve in fuel line (if you do not already have it), start engine and then cut off the fuel. Let the engine run until the fuel in carb runs dry. Leave the fuel cutoff in the off position until next spring or when ready to start engine This will eliminate a common problem of old fuel evaporating in the carb and gumming it up which most likely will cause cranking problems in spring.

  • Easy change out, works great!

Old solenoid was sticking, engine starving for fuel and stalling. Tried to free up the plunger, but began sticking again. Ordered new, got in no time. 5 minute change out. Runs great again. Thanks.

  • Replacement for Nikki carb 15.5 hp Briggs

I tried everything to get my Briggs engine to run on any throttle position other than idle. Talking with a lawnmower repair shop regarding everything I had tried, he said it sounded like it was time to replace the carb. Cleaning it out 3 times didn't work and every other thing I tried didn't work either. I didn't really want to spring for the $100 an authentic Nikki cost so I got this replacement. It fits and works great. Before, the Nikki was running rich and fouling the spark plug all the time until it finally would crank and idle and that was all. Now my plug stays clean, mower runs great and the best part is that this carb was around $20 instead of $100. There was one part I did transfer over from the Nikki. The choke butterfly valve on the NIkki is brass so I thought it was a better part than what was on this replacement carb. I pulled it and installed the Nikki brass one on it.

  • Genuine b/s part

Bought a far cheaper one last fall when the original failed after almost 300 hrs. Cheaper isn’t better when it comes to these. This one is better quality made in Japan and you can see and feel the difference. Genuine Briggs and Stratton part is the way to go. If your mower is down get this one.

  • right choice

exactly like OEM, unlike many other replacements, this has the rubber snub to perfectly seal against the jet. Installed without issue.

  • Made a world of differnece.

Just what my husband needed to fix his riding mower after several hours of tearing the mower apart and putting it back together again. Put his on and it runs like a new one.

  • Don't fuel around with a bad carb.

I left a mower sit for a few years, and of course it would not start. I cleaned the obvious stuff, but no go. I couldn't tell if this was the offender, because it would move a bit. Finally, after it sat for a few days, I noticed it was totally seized. This part fixed it ! Unbeatable price too ! About 75% off others.

dones not work well had to remove and replace with another solenoid

  • It worked!

This is a huge value compared to what you would spend on an authentic B&S solenoid. I was skeptical but after reading other reviews, I figured it was worth a shot. I'm glad I did. Thank you very much for providing a quality aftermarket part.
