I like the phone itself. The operations are smooth, Cortana is actually quite nifty. It will need a bit of updating upon purchase but it's worth it and certainly improves usability. Where Windows fails, and hard is the apps and games. It's just a particularly poor selection of. One constructive criticism of "Cortana" is that unlike Siri, where the ability to recognize your voice automatically for example if you say "Hey Siri" the program will respond, Cortana does not do this. It seems like there might be an app to make this possible but it's $7 for a feature that should ideally already be incorporated into the program. I also find the standard podcast organization to be quite unintuitive and poorly designed. I can't seem to just easily find a list of just podcasts I've downloaded! In fact I've never found that list, I'm not sure it's even an option at all. It's also difficult to find quality podcasts unless you already know what to look for. While I like the interface and it's smooth, has good customization, and looove, love The Weather Channel app overall my impression at times is Windows Phone is the little sister trying to prove itself. In time I'm sure some of these issues will improve, but the problem is I'm dealing with these issues right now and occasionally find myself wishing I went with an Android phone instead. I am very happy with the fact that I can replace the battery and expand the storage with a micro SD card! This is great. I ran into a small issue trying to get apps onto the SD card initially(If you also had this issue, this advice may help you) Downloads should be set to be put onto your phone(look under storage sense), while the apps should be set to go onto the SD card. When I had my settings for downloads to go onto the SD card everything went into pending. Download needs to be set to the phone, but once downloaded, the app should install onto the SD card. I'd say it's good overall, but quality of apps, games and so on need to be improved incredibly. While there are some good things out there, there's a lot of games/apps that are just garbage and bring the whole feel of the experience down a peg. Mostly, don't confuse this device as an Iphone or Andriod. It is it's own operating system. I think I expected too much familiarity to something like IOS. There's a learning curve, but this is a decent budget phone overall with surprisingly great quirks you might not expect. Battery saver, Data Sense(helps you not go over data usage). Screen Projection ability, Quiet Hours, Find My Phone ability, and more are some of the included gems of the Lumia 520.Read full review

Its small form factor is what appealed to me most, and the fact that the operating system is not by Apple or Google. I am not a Bill Gates / Windows fan (I prefer Linux), but the user interface of this phone is much cleaner and easy to use than Android by Google, and it isn't overpriced and overblown the way arrogant Apple, which thinks it's a god, prices and promotes its phones. I like the look of this phone, and most of all, it handles 4G. Good job, Nokia.

It's very easy to use and has instaled help notes for faster learn of using all functions of phone. Has a very good camera, very clear images and video , phone is very stable there is no freeze or slow reaction even when memory is almost full on it (had that problem with few android phones) . also has a nice addition when connected to PC to transfer pictures/videos.
I bought this phone mainly because I needed one and it had to be a Windows Phone, It has really good features and the "Preview for Developer's" app made it all the more attractive. However the title said unlocked which it was not and I am disappointed about this because my problem has not been rectified and I feel cheated. I would buy the phone again but from a verified seller just to take advantage of the warranty. PS: still disappointed.
I purchased the Lumia 520 base on my experience With windows 8. The price is very attractive and unlock, that's make it a world phone. There's some feature that's not included, but acceptable. I'm so happy with it, I purchased a total of four, for my wife & I, and for my in law & friend. If you shopping around for a world phone, affordable & fun. Don't hesitate to check it out. Henry
Very nice phone. I liked the features. GPS is very interesting to me. Without Sim card I could navigate. I got the delivery on time.Although some of the Aps are only for iphone and Anroid phone but window phone has lot of free apps where aps for other operating system may cost you more. This Nokia Lumia 520 is really less expensive and I found real value for money.
Works and easy to use, I will recommend the product to everyone, the OS is very simple and direct once you get use to it in a matter of days, from android to iPhone it is easily learnable. Screen is very sensitive and clear, I do not have anything else to add. Alex
Nokia is really good. Have been for many years and they still are number one. I have had a Samsung galaxy and even an Iphone but they still can't compete with the stability of a Nokia. Sure, the 520 is an old model that has no LTE techonoly but the 3G that uses makes it feel like a 4G tech. Windows OS is tricky but I love Cortana
Would recommend this Nokia 520 to any cell phone user that wants an easy to use phone. Love the windows 8 and the tiles are easy to locate. I bought this phone as a back-up, but am using it everyday.
Affordable price. Easy to use . The battery last long. Easy to handle the phone. Excited to have it. I like it so much.
