This is a brilliant little product! I'm using it as a microphone preamp, but it can run via usb into a computer and is recognized by most DAW's. It will take 2 inputs, input 1 via XLR mic lead or by 6.5mm "guitar" lead line in. The second input is via the same plugs that are usually used to plug into a video recorder or something. (Yellow for video and red and white for L + R audio channels.) I'm Actually pretty sure that you can run a stereo input via two 6.5 mm guitar leads into it as well. It then has either an output using the same type of plug mentioned before, (Yellow, red + white) or a guitar lead, or like mentioned, usb straight into PC/Mac. It has a 2 band (hi + lo) onboard eq and a compressor as well (onboard), and then next model up, Q802uUSB also has 48V phantom power on board. This model doesn't. All up great unit. I use it heaps. After many months of deciding what personal mixer to buy (mainly due to the number of reviews done by people who don't understand basic audio theory), I finally made a choice on this product and very happy with it (value for money). Don't get me wrong, I am no audiophile or expert, but have spent many years understanding the basics such as high and low pass filters, designing x-overs for speakers back in the 80's, but the basic rule applies, you put "crap" in at the start, no matter how good your equipment you buy, it will struggle. My use is for Youtube recordings (recent) and for Phone system recordings (been doing for many years) and it appears to be be perfect for both. I was a but worried with the 15v Phantom Power on the Q502USB, but this fear was not founded. My higher end mic and the real cheap BM800 sound very good with this mixer. The only points against it (which is not a biggy), was the very convoluted sign up process for the warranty and DAW download. I have done this stuff for years and I was confused.....a simple overview page of what the "Club" is and what a "Partner" is and more so, what does it matter to me as an End User. I finally found a web page from another product supplier that uses this Club method that provided the correct process and understanding. Otherwise very happy with the product for the price - it works perfectly. Have recommended it to others.Read full review
