After getting watch set up I have had no problems keeps time and gets its atomic time signal just like it should. Glad I picked this watch it looks very nice can go casual dress or tactical if need be have seen lots of the other Casios on guys at work and they are all the big plastic looking ones, to me just look cheep but they are still G-SHOCK quality. This watch is about standard size I don't have very large wrist or small but average for 185 lb's @ 5'-11" watch fits great. for charging solar initially charged It for a full 8 min. in direct sunlight per manual and has yet to move off full mark on the solar meter that was 6 weeks ago and I work mostly indoors. the timer & stop watch are very simple to operate.

I like the styling, solar & atomic timekeeping aspects of the watch but there are 2 issues that drop my rating to 3 stars. First & foremost is that for many years I've been using my watches alarm function rather than an alarm clock. The alarm volume on this watch is so low that it's useless. I'm even a light sleeper & it's almost inaudible when I'm awake. Now I'm forced into using an alarm clock which doesn't make me happy after having spent more on this watch than any other watch I've ever owned. The second issue I have with the resin band. I have small wrists & have never liked resin bands but hoped that Casio was putting a more comfortable band on a pricier watch. Well, I tried it for several days & if you have a small wrist it's no better fitting or more comfortable than the cheap plastic band on a no name watch. I won't go into the specifics other than to say if you've used resin bands in the past & been less than pleased with them you won't be any more pleased with this one. But if you're satisfied with them, you'll be happy with this one too. FYI, I had a new, spare, $8, generic, black velcro band that I'd planned to use on my old watch, so I tried it on this watch & it works great. It looks decent & you'd have to know that the watch originally came with a different band to pick up on it's being a replacement. Still, for me, the alarm killed my enthusiasm for the watch.Read full review

For the cost this is a no frills watch. Solar is awesome as is atomic time. I love that it's all black and not showcasing it's name etc..or make me look nerdy. It's tough to tell from photos if the solar dial is more grey or black but in reality it appears more black. Sub-dials are sorta tough to read but manageable. I hardly use them anyways, I use my watch to tell time mostly. The lume sorta sucks, but the white hands are nice and the light works fine, I love the orange color! The only thing I think could have been cool is even a more blacked out look with maybe grey hands. I have a small 6.5 inch wrist and it fits great. It's not huge like most G-Shocks, so if you have a small wrist this is perfect. I've never owned this brand but love that they are tough so I can do stuff like play drums with it and not worry about the inside mechanics like in other watches...and if it does fail at some point it didn't break my bank. I'm used to a mechanical watch so this thing feels like a feather.Read full review

Highly accurate, easy to use, comfortable and tough, this G-Shock would be perfect except it is not as easy to read as you might expect because of a "busy" dial and analogue hands that take some getting used to to see quickly. Also, the night light doesn't help matters. You have to study the dial to make out where the hands are. But don't let that stop you. I really get bored with digital readouts. Love analogue and this watch doesn't disappoint.

I bought this because I like the idea of it setting itself every day. The instructions to initially set up the watch are a little confusing since it has to be set to a particular time zone by using a major city. I simply typed in the model number and found clearer instructions on the net. Once it was set I got the hang of the functions pretty quickly. I like the watch. It is nice looking and durable. I'm wanting buy another one and put a nicer band on it for dressier occasions.

Hard to find a better watch for the $$.....medium sized unlike the rest of the G-Shock line, so not so "in your face I have a watch on".....easy to set up....only complaint is its a little hard to see in the dark unless you use the light....and the LED is only good for younger eyes, not mine

Unlike the black face version of this watch, this model received a signal from the atomic clock immediately and accurately set both the analog and digital time without further input from me. You would be hard pressed to find these advanced and convenient features at this price point with timeless style.

excellent comfortable watch, compact size. solar battery !!! multi-band does not make sense if you live more than 1500 kilometers from the time control tower. I bought because of the compact size and solar panel.

I work outside doing a variety of jobs and needed a watch that would hold up to the rigors from manual labor. The watch band holds up to sweat, water and dirt. The watch crystal is inset and protected from dings and scratches. I like that it is solar powered and updates itself with an atomic clock.

I ended up with the japanese domestic version, becsuse of the superior band, but this is a nicely sized analog g-shock for a reasonable price. I do have some trouble reading the small digital displays, but that would be my only complaint.
