Thicker than original
This replacement battery is smaller but thicker than the original battery in the iPod Shuffle G3, and the leads are heavier. It must be modified to fit by removing the label and thinning the plastic-tape cover. Once installed, it seems to work well, although I have not yet used it long enough to see how long it holds a charge.

To thick to work. Waste of money
It is smaller than the original and fatter, so it won't fit back in to the case. Thus it is useless.

Good replacement battery
Although physically smaller than the original battery, it is labelled with the same capacity. The smaller physical size made the repair easier because the second-generation iPod shuffle is extremely compact internally. At about one-third the cost of buying a whole new iPod shuffle, if you can solder tiny pads and handle extremely tiny screws, it's totally worth it.
