Dangerous piece of c--p
I bought this toilet seat hoping it would be a safety improvement over the previous kohler toilet seat I had. It was recommended as fitting the Rosario 1.6 g toilet. The issue I was having was the old seat was sliding off the toilet and it caused me to fall once. This seat is a Rube Goldberg nightmare to install. It requires 4aa batteries for the light to work (not supplied) and we did not happen to have these on hand that moment. My handyman tried to install without the batteries, BUT guess what without batteries in place the seat's hinges do not work which means the lid will not stay on. I thought I could manage with no lid for awhile. Today handyman used bathroom and left seat up!!! When I put seat down it came completely unhinged and the hinges retracted into the back bail. I think the hinges will not come out unless the whole thing is removed from the toilet, another nightmare as the bolts are deeply recessed and very hard to tighten. Total design failure. I guess that is why I replaced kohler fissures in upstairs bath with Toto. My handyman wants me to get rid if this toilet. I likely will have to as it is a serious hazard for the elderly and disabled.
