  • Good value for a golf cart or electric bike meter.

I got this to monitor the batteries on a golf cart I use in the back woods. I didn't want to get stuck in the woods somewhere because I ran the batteries down to far without realizing it. This meter does the trick. Installing the current shut (that is supplied with the meter) and doing the wiring is was pretty straightforward, about like wiring up a set of auxiliary lights or a connector for a trailer. If you can't do that kind of wiring, find an electrical friend to help. You really need a volt meter and a clip on amp meter to do the job right. The programming was a little confusing, but after a few tries I got it done correctly. Its not like you are going to ruin anything if you don't get it right the first time, but it won't show the the percentage of charge left correctly unless do the programming correctly. Volts and amps will read fine, but you have to program info about the battery capacity into the meter. Like I said, its not a big deal, but it might take few tries. You can still use the cart and meter, just give the programming a try on another day. The meter is great, I love it. One note, though, the display does get washed out in bright sun, so you might need to rig up a sunshade, and rain protection, too. I've attached a picture of the meter installed inside a plastic box I had laying around. Everything inside the box comes with the meter; including the current shunt, which i did not take a picture of because it is attached to the battery bank.
