This is an excellent camera. This model was superseded quite some time ago, so you don't get the newest features but buying secondhand is excellent value for money. I am still getting familiar with using the controls and settings. For a relatively inexperienced photographer, the setting options are a bit overwhelming. I am also moving away from relying on the auto setting, so it has been a bit of a steep learning curve. Nonetheless, this camera has already provided some excellent quality images. I did quite a bit of research comparing what was around at my price range, new and secondhand, and this was one of two on the shortlist. I am very happy with the results for the money spent, and would recommend the Canon 5D Mark II for wanting to step up from the dSLR kits, as I did.

Love this camera. To me no point buying the latest version unless you want or need the new settings and much higher MB. The 5D Mark II is good as ever if you need a cheap full frame camera and definitely take high quality shots 👍... the only 1 thing is a buggar, the camera only takes CF cards but you get used to it easily

I upgraded from the Canon EOS D 30. Now about 2000 pictures later, I'm very happy with the camera. The picture quality is much better than the D30. Especial in low light situations is the camera very good, I rarely use a flashlight. The 21.1 MP allow to cut just a small part out of the picture, with still high quality. I'm very happy with the camera. I'm using it with the 24-105mm 1:4 L lens, a great all rounder combination.
very happy with purchase, fotoapprata Pischel in excellent condition, excellent quality of shooting, the seller packed product quality, delivery very fast. Of the minuses - in the kit was not bad original elements of power, I replaced it and now there is no problem. Seller promised number of shutter actuations about 7000, but in fact it was about 20,000, but I'm not upset. I really liked the camera.

Amazing camera, even though it is over 19 years old, the image quality is amazing.

This is the best camera I could ever afford...great value for money and so easy to use. Everything on this camera makes sense no unneccesary buttons or features that I have yet to discover. If you want a camera with professional results without the price then this is one I would recommend.
Been using it for a month, thus not many pictures were taken as of yet. However love how it works well with the 24-105mm lens that I purchased separately. The quality of the pictures reached a whole new level, and am still learning how to make use of all its functions. It's a good time to upgrade to this lens if you started off with a lower range camera. I had a 450D before this, and this 5D Mark II which is much bigger and heavier, makes it look like a toy..I strongly recommend starting off with a cheaper dslr before upgrading to this, as it can cost quite a bit and will be a waste if you don't know how to use the functions on this camera properly. Compared to the 5D Mark III, I think this is better value for money since the price has been going down. Will be keeping this camera for a long long time! That's why I decided to upgrade :)Read full review
I have been taking photographs for a very long time. 35mm, 2 1/4, various cameras from lowly Kodak point n shoots to Hassleblads. Mostly Canon. When I went digital I bought a 1000D. Nice camera, nice introduction to digital photography. I upgraded to a 7D. Bit more complex, took a bit of getting used to. With a selection of lenses I decided I needed a full frame. With research I decided on the 5D mark 2. Lovely camera to use, as expected a different 'feel' to my trusty 7D, the only metaphor that comes to mind is comparing a Gibson J-100 to a Fender Telecaster. Both make music but differently. Not a lot more I can add really. I like it very much.
I have one and bought another for my daughter. I have travelled in some very rough third world countries and it is tough and reliable. Only drawback is it’s quite heavy.
