Solved this the day after I got it. I got the answer just by thinking about how it must work, then simple manipulation. It's well made, looks good and worth the money to me, even though it's pretty much a one trick pony. I'm glad I got it and will see how my friends get on with it. I also have the 'Padlock' which I found much harder and way more entertaining - that took me a week to figure out.

This puzzle is even better if you have some knowledge of machining and the constraints of assemblies. SPOILERS. OTOH, I was a bit unhappy with the lead-in angles on the bolt threads; the nuts do not rotate on the threads as smoothly as on a straight bolt, so this causes some frustration in figuring out the alignments. Yet, maybe this was intentional, to increase the required dexterity
