We are very happy with our purchase of the Vax VX82 Blade Maxi Cordless Stick Vac. We did a lot of research and selected this model based on reviews and brand reputation. We have not been let down. The vacuum is very easy to set up and use. It's quiet and has plenty of power. Like all stick vacuums the stated run time is based on the lowest power setting and not using the power (turbo) head. We were aware of that so were not surprised when the run time was substantially lower than the advertised run time. We did, however manage to vacuum our whole 195 square metre house on one charge, using a combination of power settings and only using the power (turbo) head on the carpeted areas (approx. 50% of the total area). The battery light was flashing red just as I was finishing. As other reviewers have stated, the dust collection canister is quite small and had to be emptied half way through but I also expected that. I haven't had a stick vac previously so can't compare to other brands/models but we're very happy with our choice. Most other brands are 2 to 3 times the price and I couldn't imagine how they could be 2 to 3 times better.Read full review

Pros: Good for quick cleanup Cons: Messy to empty. Could do with bigger container for dust collection fills up quickly. Filter takes ages to dry after washing it tried to get spare one very expensive and difficult to find. Vax don't sell them from their website. If you don't use turbo function it takes a while but chews thru power. Overall it's just ok don't know if I would buy one again jury is still out.

The head is a little heavy for us 82 year olds. Very impressed with the motor driven brush as it makes vacuuming carpets so easy. Other than the weight it is easy to use. We have only had the arricle for a couple of weeks so no cmomment re- reliability. It is almowt impossible to clean without getting your hands dirty. Perhaps there is a way of doing so in which case I would be gald to know about it. The manual is explicit in its own way but I found it difficult to understand without careful reading and shuffling of pages. Having said that, I am hopeful that it will carry the work it should do for many years to come. Choice had the same opinion. Better than cleaners at 3 times the pric according to them.

Perfect machine. Only thing you really need is the light to operate on all floor types as the light helps shows dust on wooden floors to clean up. We have wool carpet and it must be cleaning it as has picked up the woollen fluff. When you turn the rotating brush on it pulls you along so no need to push and pull. Happy with it so far. Plenty of charge to vacuum my home.

The Vax Blade 2 Max stick vacuum runs at a higher voltage than many other stick vacs and this gives it good sucking power. It cleans carpet with the powerhead very well without being too noisy. The head light makes finding the dirt in dark corners easier. It has four lights on the handle to indicate the state of charge in the battery which held enough charge to vacuum a whole two bed apartment. The dust container unclips from the vac so it can be easily shaken into a bag or bin while the body of the Vax can be elsewhere, on charge for example. The collected waste is easy to get into a rubbish bag without making a mess or filling the air with clouds of dust but the filter will need brushing down with a finger or small brush before shaking out. It is comfortable to hold and easy to guide around the floor with the stick and can be used with the same attachments but without the stick to get into tighter places.Read full review
