For the RRP it is a very good product, even being 2 years old. During the current period of time, where supply shortages have driven up CPU and GPU related goods, finding a decent laptop or PC for gaming even at the most moderate levels can be tough, as most are over priced relative to their true value. This is a great alternative, until such time as GPU and CPU supply increases again, and the prices level out. Temps remain relatively stable and from my testing don't rise above 83C, even after consistent heavy work loads during gaming, albeit can spike with heavier loads, but that is the trade off with a laptop, as everything is much more compact and by design the temps will be hotter relative to PC's. Additionally the 16gb of organic memory it ships with is great, as most laptops will only offer 8 GB, and possibly 16 as a payable upgrade. Given the requirements for a lot of applications and games, 16gb is the relative standard these days, so it saves you having to buy another 8gb and installing it after your purchase. Designed aesthetically, the chassis is great, functional, compact and yet rugged. RGB keyboard lighting is a nice touch. The Asus Armory software is a nice feature, seems relatively bugless, and has a good degree of functionality, to change the CPU and GPU fan speeds relative to what tasks you are doing. Silent mode is truly silent, one of the quieter laptops available, with performance mode being a bit louder, however that is the naturally trade off you get to reduce temps through greater fan usage and improved GPU and CPU power draw. All in all, for the price you can find it at, there are few laptops that you can match it against. The only drawback as I see it is the GTX 1650, an older card with only 4gb of dedicated memory, however its performance can be increased by installing 2X 8 GB of memory as opposed to the single stick it ships with, as this will increase CPU performance and as a result the GPU performance. (AMD CPU's perform better with dual channel memory as a general rule of thumb). Additionally with the screen being 144hz you get a great visual product, with 144hz being the standard monitor rate you'd want to go for when gaming. If your looking for a budget gaming laptop that can perform other tasks possibly work related, and maintain a quieter workload during non intensive sessions, then this should be an option you consider, at least in the near future.Read full review
