Bryce Courtney, Sam Neil and Narranderra. Who could ask for more?
Bryce Courtney always writes such wonderful books and I was excited to see Jessica as a mini-series a few years ago. Sam Neil plays a drunk barrister so well and the other characters wind around him. Beautiful scenery of Narrandera NSW. Great viewing.

Not accurate to book but enjoyable anyway
Having already read the book, I was a little disappointed that some of what I though pertinent things were left out. I understand that it was time constrained, and I really enjoyed it, but it was not accurate to the book.

A glimpse of the past in raw detail.
The movie was made in towns that have stayed pretty much as they were from the late 1800's and up to and after the first world war and where my ancestors were living in NSW. It is a powerful story that is based on real people and the injustices experienced by the star, Jessica. I appear in the movie as a character that could have been one of my relatives in the early days and the settings their daily lives were lived, authentic.

The characters are real, The story is gripping and the person who picked the cast should get ten out of ten. It was heart breaking but I couldn't stop watching. Great movie Loved it.

Amazing Aussie story, highly receommend although at times a little confronting.
Great Aussie story, the DVD is as good as the novel was. The characters are believably true to the life we imagine back in the early days of settlement. I would recommend to MA only because some scenes are a little confronting.
