Timeless Humour
Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon at their best. The characters are ageless and well known to us through real life encounters. Matthau and Lemmon provide a masterful insight into how comedy should be and can be delivered using pure word craft and easily identifiable characteristic traits recognised by everyone. The audience is engaged without the need for resorting to the use of banal slapstick and over use of some well known and base adjectives that some think pass for talent. Modern remakes do not come anywhere near the professional comedic skills of Matthau and Lemmon. These movies will always stand the test of time and audience approval.
