A surprisingly well designed and functional mower and best of all- great value for the price/
I have use and repaired petrol mowers for over 40 years. With over 500 Sq meters of back yard/lawn I currently own a Honda self-propelled mower and a Kawasaki 8HP 21 inch slasher. For nearly 5 years I also used a German build electric mower just for the front lawn. I really like it!!! You don't have to pull start it and it starts immediately, EVERY time!! It has constant power. There is no need to store or handle dangerous petrol or mix in oil. It stops as easily as it starts. It doesn't produce polluting, smokey grey fumes. It is extremely QUIET in comparison to a petrol engine. It cuts cleanly and is capable of cutting through very long grass if taken sensibly. It is a third of the weight of most petrol versions and is therefore extremely easy to push. It doesn’t tend to bog down in soft ground either. I don’t have to waste time going to the petrol station to pick up fuel for it and it’s far cheaper to run! No spark plugs to fail or replace. In so many ways my electric is much better than my petrol powered units. To my surprise, the Ozito I bought, is by far the better product!! I have used it now for an entire summer season. It is extremely light to push and the large diameter wheels roll easily. The height adjustment is basic but functional and the way the whole handle assembly fold down makes it very easy to lift and transport. It’s everything the old German unit was and more. Yes I am very pleased with my purchase and I am definitely sold on electric mowers!!!!! I am now considering a LI Ion battery powered unit but value for money, the basic corded Ozito is very hard to beat. Having dragged around a power cord for nearly 6 years now, I find it only a minor inconvenience and far out weighed by the other inherent advantages of an electric powered mower. The only minor constraint is the smallish catcher capacity which makes it more suited to smaller lawns. That’s not to say it won’t handle larger lawns with ease- you will just have to make a few more trips to the green bin or compost heap to empty it.
Oh, by the way, in the 5 years I used the German electric mower and believe me, I gave it a flogging, it never once failed to run and never needed servicing of any kind! It would still be going except I stupidly ran the blade into a concrete kerb and damaged the whole mounting. It was cheaper to buy the Ozito than to repair the old unit. With a 3 yr warranty the Ozito is showing no signs of failing either. Hope this helps and beware of concrete kerbing!
