I'm not a professional, just a beginner can't really compare it to a more expensive bow. It does the job. I'm enjoying it.

There is no stiffness to the wood. This bow is completely unusable. There may be some bows that have sufficient suspension, but without proper inspection it's like rolling the dice in Vegas. Odds favor the house. I asked the company to send a playable bow, and all they responded was an apology: in essence: 'Sorry, you wasted your money.' Never use the word, "professional" when amateurs can do a better job.

The bow is sturdy, has a nice bounce, not heavy, good hair with grip and pretty to look at. The craftsmanship at this price is excellent. It is something I would recommend to a beginner or intermediate player as an extra bow. It is good to have different bows. A great value.

To get the horse hair replaced on my olde violin bows would cost over fifty dollars each. The bow that I bought through eBay does very well, so I won't miss my "vintage" bow. I can't imagine one that could perform any better for any price.

I'm an elderly student learning old-time fiddle music. This bow is very nice, well balanced and a joy to hold. I pair it with a heavier Glassner bow and find that between the two, I'm getting a nice range of experience in developing a good-sounding bowing technique. I find that this lighter bow requires a little more bearing down for a solid note, but it also has a lovely ability for deft, light touches in slurring grace notes. I very much recommend this bow.
