    Good Product

Good product. If you wish to convert the bulbs to LED afterward please note: low beams fit & need a wire modification, high beams likely wont fit because the fans attached to the back of the bulbs must sit in sockets too deep & thin for the high beams to fit (fan module (too wide)

  • Lights fit perfectly but you have to clean and lubricate everything, and pay attention to detail.

Perfect fit. However---- Make sure you clean the tracks that guide the light into place and clean the locking mechanism that holds the lights in position. Just use a damp rag or spray a little WD40 and wipe the tracks with a paper towel. They collect a lot of dirt over time and if you experienced difficulty getting the old lights out it is because of that build up of dirt over the years. Spray everything with a lubricant like silicon spray or WD40 - the tracks you just cleaned and the locking ring mechanism, and also the little cylinder things that stick out on the sides of the lights that the locking rings grab onto. Also lubricate the guides on the lights with a silicon spray or WD40. Make sure the lock ring is in the full unlock position and then slide the light into place. If everything is clean and lubricated the lights should go into place with little effort. Don't be surprised if you damage the old lights getting them out, they can be difficult depending on how long they have been in there and how much dirt or sand has collected in the tracks and around the locking mechanism. It helps if you work the locking lever back and forth while pushing on the back of the light housing. After removing the old light be sure to check the locking ring and make sure you didn't damage it while removing the old light. The locking ring may get dislocated and slip out of the little track it rides in. You won't get that new light in place if the locking ring is not setting in its guide like it should. If you do damage the locking ring you can buy them online. Remember, there is a little release button next to the locking lever you have to push in to move the locking lever upwards into the unlock position. And after you install the new light and push the locking lever all the way down make sure it is all the way down to where the release button is all the way into position - you don't want your new light falling out going down the road. Your new lights may need adjustment. They are the two little white plastic rings with hex slots. My original VW OEM lights used a 6mm hex key or a Phillips head screwdriver while these new lights were 7mm hex key only. The top adjuster is for the up and down adjustment and side adjusters move the lights side to side. Turn the top adjuster clockwise to lower the light and counterclockwise to raise the light. You can damage the light beyond repair if you turn the adjuster too far. Two full turns raises or lowers the light considerably, so don't go beyond that during an adjustment. Also use a very light touch so you can feel when you've adjusted the light to its limit. The internal parts of the adjusters are plastic and break easily. Also note that on the drivers side you may have to unlock the light and slide the light out to get to the top adjuster because it is difficult to get to in the car. Hope this helps

  • Lights required professional alignment

Purchased these lights to replace the stock faded housings and they look great however they are not a perfect fit meaning the gasket that surrounds the housing is smaller leaving a gap between the housing and the fender. Also the housing is no where near aligned so light is firing downward and can’t see no further than 20 feet past the front of the car. Required that you align them which is a pain especially because they don’t come with the tool.

  • 2001 VW Beetle front head lights

I am shocked by the quality and price. No where are you going to find a better part for the price. This is the second set of lights that I have replaced the first two where in a BMW Z3. Don’t waste your time looking further.
