  • Stranger In a Strange Land - full version is better than ever

This book is published from the original Heinlein manuscript, not the edited-down one that was available in the 1960s and 70s. I am happy to read an old friend, bigger and better than ever. There are lots of good topics for thought, and an entertaining story. This book affected American culture - a seminal mind-stretcher.

  • Re-Read in Full Edition

I read the original when it came out in the 60s...It was an important statement then...Now after a full life, it strikes me as very disappointing that so little has improved. Books have been written and movies made plus education, constant news and documentaries, but we have learned nothing... This was one of the books that hinted at the eventual perfectibility of man..It is even better uncut,,,But sadly the 60s generation that ate this up has accomplished little. We have Covid, Trump, Putin, Xi, Kim, Erdogan, Bolsonaro, African tribalism, Afghanistan and Syria pointing to obvious catastrophic societal bankruptcy...The world is considerably more lost and people even dumber...With Russia at Ukraine's throat, we stare into a new 1962 like crisis all over again. Climate change has proven leadership is globally missing. Humanity is totally clueless and fatally flawed,
