Vintage Tamiya Avante - what can I say?! Its the dream kit for us mid 40's guys who lusted after the coolest Tamiya cars in the late 80's. I wanted one for years! The thing to realize about these is that the original had flaws - and as such - is fragile. The re-release that is still being made had much more robust parts for the suspension. If you plan to drive your Avante, update the arms and uprights to the 2011 versions. The 40-year-old plastic is super brittle... that's the only reason for my ding on durability. If you do plan on going down the vintage Avante rabbit hole - make sure to check out tamiyaclub - they can answer all your questions!

The DF02 tamiya chassis is a very simple and affordable solution to start with the buggy category in rc world. This one is a little bit hard to install the tires onto their wheels, but that's the only hardest part of it. Differentials are aluminum and the main shaft is a very resistant plastic which I think comes with aluminum inside, because it's very resistant.
