A good working radio I used as CERT radio lead. Complete with 3 batteries and wall wart. The NOAA weather scan is particularly useful. I START 'EM LOW AND WATCH 'EM GO! Of course there's a channel 19 priority.

Handheld CB radio value!
These older Radio Shack handheld CB radios are a tremendous value in today's market. They are tough and durable (for what they are), and are a great value when you can find one in good working order (like the one I purchased). When new, this type of equipment was considered to be of medium quality and durability. However, compared to much of what you find new on the market today, they are far superior. One complaint, if any, would be only in trying finding those that accept common AA batteries. You must remember that the batteries for the rechargeable varieties are getting older now, and their abilities to take and hold a charge are lessening. Those that use batteries are far more durable over time.
