Easy to use system
Lansky Deluxe worked well. I am a novice at sharpening, but was able to get good results quickly. Some spare parts are provided, which is great. Nice storage box and easy to follow instructions. Poor Quality, Cheap Design.
This is a toy. It has a clamp to hold the knife to be sharpened but it is narrow and does not provide enough width. With a long kitchen knife the whole knife slips as one tries to turn it over and in my case it cut me with a cut of about 50mm. The clamps that hold the rods is of poor quality and come loose easily requiring the bar to be reset. This has to be done by laying on a flat surface to ensure that the bar is on the same plane as the stone. The stone, that is covered in oil, leaves the oil on the surface. The bar is similarly not held firmly by the clamp and can swivel requiring resetting again to make sure you are grinding at the same plane. Annoyingly the stone frequently slips off the end of the stone and this is frustrating. The mechanism to keep the stone at the right angle to the blade is good. The unit is cheap and quality has been skimped on totally unnecessarily considering the asking price. The stones are also too narrow and one has to move the blade along the knife to complete the full length of the blade for most utility blades. Probably better for pocket knives.

Excellent kit with poor quality mount
This is a great sharpening kit and very easy to use but bother time I was onto my 3rd knife, the thread on my universal mount has stripped and is now unstable. Great sharpener
This is a fantastic kit. I could never sharpen my knives using a steel, I would just wreck them. With the Lansky kit, I brought back my old knives to full sharpness very easily. Just work out what angle you blade is (most kitchen knives are 25 degrees) & sharpen away. You can't muck it up. I suggest using a leather strop after sharpening and after use to keep the blade in great condition. Can't say enough good things about this kit.....Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Neat kit, works well, minor issues.
I found using this system to be simple and easy. It worked well on my stainless steel knives and left a fine edge that I'm very happy with. I did find it was a little small for holding by hand so I really appreciate the universal mount. It was a bit difficult to use the lowest guide slot as the stone wanted to rub on the knife clamp, I do like that the oil is included. Just a great product for the home DIY'ers. No need to put up with those pesky hardware sharpening stones that ruin your knives or spend a fortune on the more professional kits that you may only use a few times just to keep your knives in top condition. Overall, this is a optimal sharpening solution if you're willing to spend a little bit your time. Excellent hunting knife sharpener
Once the brief learning curve is over you can easily get your knifes Razor sharp. (There are good tutorial videos by Lansky themselves on youtube) Blades over 6 inch can be a challenge but at least you are setting the cutting edge angle correctly and accurately. The Hard stones easily reshape badly distorted/gouged blades. Working down to the gentle polishing stones leave the edge looking professionally finished. This is a far better option than buying expensive honing stones that take many many hours to master.
