I searched exhaustively for an adjustable, leather-topped piano bench constructed in solid hardwood. I wanted it to be furniture grade. This concert bench meets every feature I was looking for. The hide, not bonded, leather is high quality and wraps around the edge of the 3” cushion. Beneath that, the vinyl box wrapping is visually indistinguishable from the leather. Unlike other benches, the box hides the unsightly adjustment mechanism, even at the maximum height (21.5” with added felt floor protectors) as seen in my photos. The wooden adjustment knobs slowly, very slowly, allow the seat to be adjusted incrementally to your desired height. The black satin legs have a lovely gloss that complements my 100-year-old Ivers & Pond upright. (They match the black keys!) All wooden parts of the bench are sturdily connected with serious hardware. The bench doesn’t squeak or wiggle even at the highest adjustment or when my heavier husband attempts to make it misbehave. Comfort and size are absolutely Goldilocks “just right”: it is neither too hard nor too soft, neither too narrow nor too wide. For me, the seat has the perfect amount of give that is comfortable for long practice sessions while providing the support needed for healthy posture. For those who might appreciate the hidden music storage compartment, the seat closes completely on two 3.25” stacks of music books, as seen in the photos. The lid/seat has a sturdy brass box lid support hinge that holds the it in place. The finish work inside is a combination of the leather wrap and an unknown, sturdy lining material on the top and bottom. We had some misgivings after watching a YouTube review. Our bench bears no resemblance to that one. The workmanship on the concert bench is excellent. Because of the questions raised, we asked questions of the CPS staff and got quick, courteous, and accurate responses. I recommend that CPS make their own video to reassure customers about the high quality of this concert bench. The only remaining question for us was whether to get the longer (34.5” x 16”) or shorter (23” x 16”) concert bench. We decided on the shorter one and are very satisfied. As you can see, it would have been overcrowded in the piano neighborhood with my basket of music and my Ikea cart/computer station. Even if I were to be playing duets often, I would probably opt for two of the 23” x 16” benches so that both players would be able to adjust the benches to their own comfort. The added benefits would be to have a separate seat for another musician or to store it out of the way until needed. (It would be a sought-after extra seat at the dining table!) Free shipping was and added benefit on this Ebay site. In short, this bench is a handsome piece of functional furniture that more than met our expectations and is a daily luxury for my music-making. I hope this review saves you some of the time I spent making this decision. Highly recommended.Read full review

I hate anything made in China. . . Nevertheless, at 20% of the price of a real Jansen, it's hard to beat.
