  • Great, for what it is.

Midi as a technology isn't that difficult, however programming this floorboard can be a chore. I'm a software developer for a living, and I studied Electrical Engineering in college. I wrestled with this for quite a while before I actually understood not only how to program this thing, but what was happening when I did it. In the end, I worked it all out and ended up with a floorboard that controls my Eleven Rack the way I wanted it to. If I had some complaints - the expression pedals should have included a switch underneath them to activate and deactivate the pedal. Basically as it's designed, you have to use one of the numbered pedals to turn something like your Wah on and off, which is slightly inconvenient. Also, it would have been nice if there were some kind of indication about the midi pedal state that could be set - you know, like an "on/off" status light or something. In my case, I'm using several of the pedals to turn things like distortion, delay, and reverb on and off. It works, but you can't tell if they were last turned on or off, or if you missed the pedal when you tried to press it. (Yes, I know you can buy a third party Rom purpose built for some midi devices, but I wanted to use this as it is.) Overall, the build quality is much higher than I expected. It feels solid and well built. I opened mine up to see what it looked like inside. The switches may prove weak after a while, but the expression pedals are using a metered peice of mylar through an optical sensor - which means there's effectively nothing wearing down over time. As long as it remains relatively clean under there, it will probably work forever. While I would have prefered a solution that was directly made for my use and provided some more indications about what was on and off - for the price you can't beat this pedal. I suspect I'll have it for a lifetime, and my just add some of those things myself if I find myself bored some day.

  • FCB 1010 MIDI FOOT CONTROLLER

THIS IS MY FIRST "MIDI" CONTROLLER OTHER THAN FOOT CONTROLLERS THAT COME WITH UNITS. I WAS UNSURE HOW IT WOULD WORK BECAUSE IT WAS NOT MADE BY THE PROCESSOR UNIT I HAD. BEHRENGER MAKES EXCELLENT PRODUCTS AND THIS IS NO EXCEPTION. HEAVY DUTY CHASIS AND SWITCHES ARE JUST THE OBVIOUS WHEN I OPENED THE BOX. I'M USING IT WITH AN AVID ELEVEN RACK BECAUSE THE AVID FOOT CONTROLLER WAS $400 OPPOSED TO THE $100 FOR THE BEHRENGER UNIT. IT DOES EVERYTHING I NEED IT TO DO AND MORE. IT CONTROLS EVERY PATCH CHANGE I CREATED AND EVEN THE PARAMETERS IN THE PATCHES SO I CAN CHANGE THE TONES INSIDE OF EACH ONE. I HAVEN'T EVEN SCRATCHED THE SURFACE OF WHAT THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF YET. THE EXPRESSION PEDALS FEEL AND WORK GREAT UNDER FOOT AND REDUCE THE NUMBER OF UNITS ON THE FLOOR. THEY'RE NOT AS GOOD AS SOME STAND ALONE WAHS OR VOLUME CONTROLS BUT ARE GOOD ENOUGH FOR MOST GIGS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE UNIT FROM A FINACIAL AND PLAYERS VIEW.

  • Behringer fcb 1010

What a great controller pedal, out of the box it spoke to my Roland GP100 effects rackmount effects processor. 10 channels of effects control at your beckon call, awesome and for $100 (used, like new) a working musician's price!

  • Solid construction and lots of customizability

Pros - solid construction, can customize each pedal to control amp effects as desired. Cons - may not work with all midi interface adapters to your PC. When starting up my setup the foot controller displays an error if the midi adapter is connected to my PC. There is a work around but can make the unit tricky to program.

  • Behringer FCB1010 Midi pedal

This pedal has saved my Blackstar ID100TVP head which I thought was destined for the boneyard after wasting my money on the FS10 footswitch that's supposed to go with it. The FS10 is a terrible, aweful excuse for a footswitch at any playing level. It makes all kinds of noise when switching presets/channels, there's a disgustingly noticeable delay when switching, it switches on the "up-click" instead of when pressing down like it should, I put "up-click" in parenthesis because there's no actual click, it just bottoms out, the tuner is barely usable, it just feels and sounds cheap! cheap! Rip off! However, the Behringer FCB1010, is YUGE! Bigger than most multi-effects pedals by a lot, but it works beautifully straight out of the box with out any firmware chip upgrade they have out there. I got the UNO chip to try out the stomp box mode.. it may work better with other effects units, but without some time consuming studying and programming, it's not worth it for me at this point when I can simply set up all the presets and leave it at that. I mean there's 10 right at your toe tips to start with then the next bank of 10 is only one click away. With the FS10 you only have 4 buttons to stary with and have to hold down the 3rd button to change to the next bank. Plus there's no indication as to which bank you are on other than 3 colors that change in sequential order; very easy to get lost and that is a no-go at a gig or even in practice. The far right expression pedal works out of the box as a preamp volume (master volume can't be controlled by MIDI with this amp) and it starts out at the preset volume, but as soon as you touch the pedal, you gain control of the full range of the preamp volume. This is good and bad. Bad because now when you push the pedal back up, it cranks the preamp volume way all the way and unless for some dumb reason you have a preset like that, it's not going to work out well. I can see using it as a volume boost for solos because it drops back of course when you tap the preset button again, but trying to dial the volume back to where you had it with the pedal is not realistic. This is can be modified so max expression pedal valur matches the max preamp volume, but I'll have to program it for every preset unless I can figure out a global setting for it (I'm still learnding ;). But who really needs the expression pedal volume as a solo boost when you can just configure a preset for the solo boost, plus add delay or whatever? Presets are much better with this amp. Yea it's a solid state pretending to be a tube amp with 6 different tube style emulators, but it sounds amazing even at high volumes (depending on your speaker quality), don't use a Marshall MG Cab with factory speakers and expect it to sound any good pushed up passed 40% volume. Get some eminence or WGS speakers! In summary, FS10 switch terrible! Behringer FCB101 awesome!!

  • It's a beast but it works!

Yeah it's a big footswitch but since I can control all my midi devices with it, it actually opened up some space for me when playing live. I have it controlling Onsong and have Onsong controlling my guitar effects pedal and my BeatBuddy drum machine. Next on the list is to have the FCB1010 also control my Quantilooper.

  • Fantastic MIDI Foot Controller

I purchased this to go along with my Kemper Profiler Rack, and it's fantastic. It does take some basic programming (which can be guided by online tutorials + manuals) to setup with a Kemper, but it's not too bad at all. Looking forward to possibly trying this in the future with a more keyboard driven setup!

Purchase the latest prom v3.2 works like a charm. Perfect with my Eleven Rack. Easy to understand, lots of videos on YouTube to learn.

  • Behringer FCB1010

If you buy this for use with guitar processors you will want to consider the Eureka PROM which programs it to work with the most popular guitar processors. Otherwise you will have to learn to program it to be functional.
