About this product

Product Information

Be the hunter or the hunted in Dying Light, an open world game from Warner Bros. Interactive for the PlayStation 4. Dying Light features a zombie horror story similar to movies such as "Land of the Dead." The game starts with you landing in the middle of an infected city under quarantine. In the quarantine, survivors not only fight zombies but each other as well. You'll take on the role of a man working to bring a cure out of the quarantine zone. The lives of thousands of people and the world are at stake. While the story of Dying Light is interesting, the real draw is its gameplay. The combat system is a visceral melee-based affair akin to Dead Island. The combat system should come as no surprise as both games share the same Techland development staff. There are more than 30 melee-based weapons to find and use on this PlayStation game, ranging from your fists to sledgehammers. You can't just swing wildly because your character has a stamina bar. Once this bar depletes, you're left vulnerable to zombie hordes. To survive, you'll need to make every swing count and be aware of your surroundings. Getting surrounded by four or more undead creatures will usually lead to a quick death. While Dying Light on PS4 does have some firearms, ammo is scarce, so you'll want to avoid using your guns unless necessary. This limitation is because sound attracts the undead. Firing a gun at one monster will quickly have 20 more descending on your location. You can also use this to your advantage: For example, you can throw a firecracker at a crowd of undead to distract them. In addition to your standard rank-and-file zombies, you'll also come across special undead monsters in this PS4 game. These creatures feature more health and strength along with special abilities. For example, one massive type of creature can knock you to the ground with just one punch. At night, the undead become faster and more powerful in the game. Special hunters also come out, able to destroy all but the most battle-hardened player. For those times you need to run instead of fight, you can use a parkour-like movement system that lets you climb walls and traverse rooftops with ease. While primarily a first-person action game, Dying Light does have some role-playing elements. As you kill the infected, you'll gain points that will make your character stronger, faster, and more durable. This game was built from the ground up for Sony PS4. The graphics are incredibly realistic, especially on the undead. As you attack them, that damage will show up on their bodies instantly. It's no surprise that this survival horror game has a rating of M for Mature due to its levels of violence, language, and sexual themes. As a result, this game is recommended for players ages 17 and up. It had an original release date of January 2015 for the PS4 and other consoles like the Xbox One. Dying Light is an experience you won't get with many other games. Its focus on melee combat puts you up close and personal with your foes.

  • Zombies meet parkour

Open world first person parkour works well once you get the hang of it. It takes some actual skill and timing unlike the assassins creed games. I wish the color wasnt so washed out but I guess they wanted everything to look destroyed and or run down. the combat works very well for being first person. Drop kicking zombie never gets old.

  • One of the best games on ps4

This is one of the best games I have played in years! I first played Dead Island and then Riptide both games I liked, but when I finally played Dying Light, forget about it! Every aspect of the game from the music, sound effects, mechanics, story, secret blue prints, to the zombie models and animations, there was not one part I did not love.

  • Excellent Game

One of the few games that I’ve felt compelled to not only return to on a different console, but return to on the same console. Not all are likely to be able to share this same love for this game, but I feel like Dying Light was interesting for its retake on the classic zombie game. Dying Light including parkour also helped improve the appeal as well as the weapon mods scattered throughout the world. The story mode is well made and overall pretty fun and I felt that Kyle’s voice actor not only held a lot of realism behind his voice, but also was able to deliver a serious tone and make you burst out laughing a little bit later. Overall Kyle helped improve the story quite a bit and though it takes similar concepts and takes little or some action Techland was still able to make an awesome game and hands down the best post apocalyptic zombie game.

  • Wierd Controls but overall a good game from the looks of it.

Controls a bit wonky and take getting used to - but seems to be okay. Purchased this for my husband - arrived three days ago - the only complains so far are above - hasn't stopped him from playing every free moment he has lol.

  • Must buy! Must have in your collection!

I love this game! I’m happy I bought it. Was looking for a game similar to Last Of Us & read on Google that this would be one of choices! Hands down one of the best zombie games I’ve ever played so far! You won’t regret purchasing.

  • Teenager Loves It

This was bought as a Christmas gift for a sixteen year old boy and it is the first time that he has told me that it was the best game that he has received in a long time. In fact, I can only remember one other game that he has raved about in four years and that says a lot.

  • Super amazing. In my opinion this is one of the best games I’ve played so far on the ps4

So worth the money. Great game to play with a friend. A bit challenging but once you get past the beginning it’s tons of fun especially at night.

  • My son loves The Dying Light!

When my son was playing this game, I used to get so into it. I would jump and scream when a zombie grabbed him or he had to outrun the runners, the ones that hurl the green stuff or the one with the big hammer. I loved seeing him go from one mission to the next. And he became a pro using the map and knowing when a zombie was coming. When he finished the game, I was so happy. When he went back to do the side missions, he was so excited. He was able to get electrified swords and stuff that chopped zombies in half. He got a grappling hook thing and was able to shoot it and scale buildings like Spiderman. Man oh man, he unlocked things I never thought he could in this game. It was fun watching him play and I like the game, as well. Lots of secret stuff and things to discover. Highly recommended for those who like zombies, hunting them and stomping their heads in.
